After the novelty of how great it looks has faded, I'd imagine a lot of people will start to wonder if it's worth it for such low range between charges and inconveniences that will follow.

I like it, but you’ve only driven 700 miles in one month? That seems about half of the national rate which is generally way below the everyday average. With that said it’s an awesome weekend cruiser. I’m sure better than a motorcycle. 3:29

how much mark-up did the dealer add? Real world range is right around 215 miles. I am a HUGE VW fan, owned 2 beetles, but I can't digest over $70k (plus dealer mark up) and barely 200 miles of range. Thats a tough one. As much as I want one, the price to range ratio makes it a NO for me right now.
In Northern California, they are charging between $5K to 15K markups. I heard in Southern CA they are charging $25K which is insane!
@@stephanieandlollipop5424 so how much mark-up did you personally pay? I think you should have full transparency to the viewers that are contemplating purchasing an iD Buzz. One of my beetles back in 2008 came with a guitar after purchase, that matched by salsa red beetle!
@@stephanieandlollipop5424 why won’t you answer the question, how much mark up did your dealer charge you? It’s an honest question. Full disclosure regarding actual price plus mark up you paid helps with credibility of your review. You talk about how awesome the iD Buzz is, but you neglect to talk about the fact that real world range is right around 215 mile (HORRIBLE) and less than EPA, and the crappy software VW puts in these vehicles, not to mention the insane MSRP + dealer mark ups.This has the potential to be an awesome EV, but unfortunately greedy VW salesmen, lack of range, poor software and over inflated price will keep sales down.

Ain't no bus had one of these for weekend, utter rubbish very low range and when loaded even worse. These people have you believe how wonderful it is well it isn't. £70 grand for something that will be landfill in 5 years. My t25 is from 1980 and no it's not bad for the environment and it's carbon footprint unlike this is so small. All this hard sell for plastic rubbish

Loser mobile. No range, clunky interface, worthless built in gps, port hole for a side window, can't tow anything. If VW made this with a gas engine, and put real windows that open, it would be a hit. Especially for camping. Otherwise, a huge waste of $70k

Your looking @ wrong metric. Miles per Kw better than Humvee and cybertruck. That said yes if on road trip more stops but shorter stop. If longer range less stops but longer stop to charge larger battery. At my age my required "piss" stop is shorter than any range so prefer more stops😊
1st Edition is available with a bench in middle row, but only with RWD (Rear Wheel Drive)

It's more like 190 mile range. Says so in the manual.
Thankfully I have other cars I can road trip in if needed. :)
It charges fast and will have access to the supercharger network. So that helps.
I would say if you ventured off the beaten path and you get desperate you have a better chance of finding a regular power outlet vs a gas pump
