FINISHING DRYWALL CORNER BEADS
มุมมอง 941ปีที่แล้ว
Although there are plenty of ways to finishing corner beads, this is how I get it done! For this situation we had to get multiple coats same day and sand/prime the next day, so we were using 45 minute fast setting joint compound aka hot mud and mesh tape. Drywall prep included V gouging joints and pre filling to prevent cracks and putting mesh tape on corner beads to reinforce a little further ...
MY FAVORITE DUSTLESS DRYWALL SANDER, HILTI DWS-225.
มุมมอง 2.5Kปีที่แล้ว
There’s many reasons why this sander is one of my favorites. The most important is because it is insanely easy to train someone how to use and get fine finish results! This sander is also amazing for overhead work due to the 180 degree tilt of the head. With the included extension i have been able to sand up to 11 ft from the ground and not to mention and using this sander is absolutely easy an...
FESTOOL RTS 400 hands on demonstration. Dustless sanding drywall!
มุมมอง 2.6Kปีที่แล้ว
Quick hands on demonstration for FESTOOL RTS 400, sanding drywall inside corners. I have used various dustless sanders to sand inside corners but i have found this sander to be the best and easiest to use. With this sander and having sandpaper adjusted properly (1/8’’ before foam pad) you can achieve really crisp inside corners and most importantly… Dustless! The foam pad around the sander is t...
HILTI DUST EXTRACTOR REVIEW, VC 150-6 XE
มุมมอง 6Kปีที่แล้ว
This is a quick review of the HILTI dust extractor. I have had this for about a year and besides what I mentioned in the video, I would also like to add that there is also a less expensive model which does not include the ability to install Bluetooth. There is also a bigger model with more capacity and can pull it like a cart. If you do lots of drywall work or lots and lots of sanding this is d...

Pretty stupid question but what comes after this? Is it ready for paint or is there more steps? I bought a fixer upper no rush to get it done one of the rooms had wallpaper but was taken off a while back but the walls have this glue that's hardened and mixed into the wall I've tried everything to take it off. It's about 3 inches in the middle of the wall all around so I'm thinking about sanding that area to get rid of the glue obviously the texture is coming off when I sand the wall then reapply texture. That's why I'm asking what comes next after texturing the wall.

Great idea. Definitely going to try this. I do have a problem , there is some remaining wallpaper from perhaps the 1960's that seems tight except where I was able to scrape off the edges. Do you think the paper will bubble if I used this as a skim coat to fill in old plaster walls?

Yeah, I too am curious how this is performing 1 year later. It seems like drywall sanding would be a real test of this units longevity and self cleaning feature and it seems like it is up to the task from what you described. I saw another video complaining that there are metal cables inside the canister that rip open dust bags. Would be nice to verify if that is actually a problem. I know you don't use bags but I probably would for what I do. I like Hilti. I think you are buying into the dust extraction system Hilti has when buying this tool to some degree since their tools are designed to work together. Like if I had this vacuum and I needed a drywall sander I would probably buy Hilti. I'm not a fan of the way the Festool dust extractor looks. It's not my thing. Very bulky. Similar suction to this with similar features. I'm primarily a hardwood floor guy. Lots of wood dust everywhere! So I am looking for a high end vacuum to help cut down on some of that dust throughout the process. I already have a good backpack vac but the storage capacity on that thing is pretty minimal.

For the amount of work that we do and the insane usage hours this dust extractor sees. This thing has been an absolute work horse for a little over 2 YEARS! The only issue I've had is the on board electrical outlet got worn down too much but hilti will replace for free if it's within warranty time. It became a little loose. Other than that I honestly could not expect more for the beatings these machines get everyday. Still strong and I probably change filters every six months and don't really clean the filters I let the machine do it's job. I honestly wouldn't even think about using dust bags because it's probably cheaper to replace filters once a week for us than to buy bags. I would however use the plastic bags to make it cleaner to dump the dust out. Other than that these machines are super reliable and would definitely recommend if you are doing some heavy duty work these things are tanks
