Barnsley man, i saw Sumo taking p*ss out of Barnsley Football Team on 'Still Wakes The Deep' lol. How about an horror game set in a Barnsey Coal Mine in a Kes-style game? You'd have a field-day with the accent. Still Wakes The Deep was brilliant, btw.
This was fantastic, thank you!
hehen💩💩
Preciate da vid forreal!
Great advice!! Thanks!!
Holy crow, that was an incredible presentation - definitely cleared up some ambiguity about what to say and when. Thank you so much!
I have a game to pitch right now
Diablo 2: skills have +50% to undead. Diablo 4: one particular skill deals +3% to undead but only if they are facing away from the character, there are between 3 and 4 corpses nearby, you haven't used a potion in the last 3 minutes, its raining outside, and your health is between 70-80%. Then they nerf it
Really love how you explained this all. I'm so interested!
The vice president of mojang needs to be fired. She or he completely misses the point of a videogame.
definitely
this is an awesome intro about UI&UX, but it is a little confusing to tell what's difference between UI and UX here. What's the job that UI designer doesn't do but UX designer does, or vice versa
UX is about how you feel when you use something. UI is about how that thing looks. Imagine a car: UI is the color, the shape, and where things are, like buttons and seats. UX is how it feels to drive the car, is it comfortable? Is it easy?
Great interview, thanks a lot!
Thanks for your incredible IP, David! I'm eternally grateful!
For someone so important in Mojang Studios and the Creation of Minecraft, I'm shocked I haven't heard more about her!
Great Info thanks!
The true heart of Play Station

Sure am glad someone wasted time on a now vacant office. (13:52) Also, for future reference: Please vet awards to avoid giving them to people who have convictions of felonies.
The good trouble world should be removed from minecraft, kids don't need to see this crap. Plus BLM is not something you should want to be like.
where's the tattoo?
what are the KPI for D1 retention? and how do you measure CTR test?
Sony should absolutely have Shuhei as the face of Sony between executives and consumers. He (more than Jim Ryan) is so relatable to "gamers". In short, Shu is the best!
Love Shuhei but damn my boy went from being honest to PR talk.. He just said PS plus is just for old games and that it's a great deal for gamers.. Bro he know good and dang well Gamepass exists for cheaper with day 1 from indies, 3rd party's and 1st party.. He gotta feel like he's officially corporate after that one smh..
Omg the rise of the uber nerds...
Wish he did more of these
Hes the last og guy at PlayStation left.everybody else is,gone.kaz, shawn,Andrew and Adam.
Adam who? Boyes? He sure wasn't OG PlayStation.
He just oozes joy and calm
Legend!
Good stuff 👏 👍
❤
Shuhei Yoshida is a national treasure.
International in fact
Global
I wouldn't mind to be able to sit down with Shu and just pick his mind over a meal and some drinks. Legendary!!!
His best moment ever, Hey Fail!!! 😂 we love Yoshi.
If there ever was a game to get someone into game development it would the juggernaut that is FF7. It was also the game to me that opened my eyes to such deep, rich story. I laughed, worried, cried, and felt accomplished in this massive game. This was right around my teen years so this game taught me so many things and points of view. I'm glad FF7 touched so many lives and I look forward to all of Playtra Games success!
Awesome stuff. Just starting my journey as a video game composer. This was really helpful
To sum up the problems with the current state of looking for a video game writer job is like assuming you don't have previous professional exp. as a video game writer: 1) Visit video game studio website, click on the career section to see how many narrative, writer roles are open. - In comparison to the number of open programmer and artist roles there are far, far, far fewer open writer roles. We are talking 0-1 maybe 2 (and that is a generous maybe) open writer roles. Tech writers for games seem to have slightly more openings but for the narrative stuff- no way. You will never or rarely every see a studio with only 1 artist opening or only 1 programmer opening but you will see that for writer openings . 2) Oh and that one writer opening you did see- let me guess it wants years of exp. writing for AAA games, must have worked on AAA shipped games, must have exp. as a leader writer before- yup I know, I see it to. The only and I mean the only time I have seen a writing position not want past exp. in the game industry are for internships and let me be honest I can probably count on 1 hand still have 3 fingers left over, the number of game writing internships. Oh and btw for those internships you had better be still in school or at most a year out of school- so anyone who graduated more than a year ago, you are cut-off from many internships. 3) So just to recap, the biggest issue is there are so FEW, SO FEW open game writer positions so whenever one is posted the competition will be immense. Now that is not to discredit the difficulty in getting a artist or programmer role but you will rarely see Blizzard recruiting exactly 1 artist, or Sony recruiting exactly 1 programmer- but you will see that for the writer roles. 4) The "chicken and egg problem". Nearly every video game writer role wants previous professional exp. yet how can you get exp. in game writing if you can't get hired in the first place? It is a vicious circle that is endlessly frustrating. So then how do you get that writer role? From what I have seen online: 1) Start out in another role and work your way into writing. Start out in QA for example then move into writing. Of course you have to get hired in that initial role in the first place. 2) You are actually one of the few that got a writing internship and you are able to use that internship to land that full time role. 3) Your portfolio, your writing samples where actually read by a person and impressed them enough to get a job. This is assuming your resume even gets past HR. I would like to hope/assume that when you apply for a writing role that a person(s) reads your sample and decides as to whether or not to move forward with your application. What I fear may actually happen is HR will simply filter out/eliminate the people who don't have previous professional exp. in game writing so that portfolio that you worked so hard on never gets read in the first place Bottomline for the fellow wannabe game writers it is hard out there. I mean in general getting a video game job in any field is tough however for writing that difficulty is multiplied many, many times because there are so few roles to begin with. To give a quick example. I saw ad for a writer role at Insomniac on LinkedIn. Within 24 hours there was around 994 applicants. Let that sink in, I mean really let those numbers actually sink in. Insomniac was looking for exactly one, 1, game writer and you have almost 1000 applicants. So it is you against 1000 other people applying for that game writer role. That is the reality of going after a game writer job today.
Mm, mm
Mmm
Hello Jason, I am here from the future to tell you that if you diffuse a little the light coming from above you won't get such a reflective shine on your shiny, shiny head. Say with a paper lamp, for example. It isn't that important, but the way that the light was focused in your room, made it difficult to focus on your face as you talked with such a bright spot on the upper right of the screen coupled with the straight reflection right above your eyes.

Greetings from Lithuania. 🇱🇹
I hope now microsoft bought activision-blizzard , they will bring back david brevik to create a true sequel to Diablo 2. D3 was truly garbage and i think D4 will also be bad.
I agree that D3 was garbage, but I don't feel the same about D4. I think the beta was great and I'm super excited for it.
Indeed. D4 has all the elements of D3 to be a failure.
I am from the future. Diablo 4 is a sequel to diablo 3
It is bad and POE 2 THIS GUY DAVID IS ONE THE MEMBER OF ADVISOR OF POE 2 IT'S SIMILAR TO DIABLO... BEING AN DIABLO FAN POE 2 TRAILER LOOKS PROMISING EVEN THE GRAPHICS 😁👌👌
Hahahahahahahaha ha
David! I love you
