That’s a pretty cool unit, I have a Comfort-Aire as well but it’s from 1978. Mine is a 29,000 BTU and has a Tecumseh AH Reciprocating compressor in it. The modern Comfort-Aire units I would say are pretty fair overall even though they are actually other maker’s units woth the Comfort-Aire Badge slapped on them. This unit in fact is a Re-badged Frigidaire 15,100 BTU but still performs quite well. Great video and I look forward to more.

I just found the LG version of the PlasmAire online. It is model 'LP7000R' for the 7000 BTU variant, and 'LP6000ER' for the 6000 BTU one.

I was hoping you'd show the specs label. I can't believe the cooling watts are only 510.

I got to test my fedders and to say its from 1994 it works awesome it cools like it's brand new every setting on the controls works and the themo works too just need to fix it a little

If I have a GFCI outlet or a 3 way GFCI adapter. Can I just cut off the original GFCI plug On the AC and install a regular three prong plug instead?

at my moms high school I have seen 1998 if I had to guess a Hampton bay branded by Fedders with digital contrals and I have never seen a older Hampton bay with digital contrals

You should make a video of all of the window a/cs you have in your collection. Just a suggestion.

I bought two 10K btu window units in 2013, $269 each at the time from HD. I think the unit you got is quieter than mine. Mine do cool the house good though.

37 years in the HVAC business and I never did work on window units much……I always found the easiest way to repair them when they start acting up is……raise the window real fast……and then shut it!😁 Then go to Walmart……

If you still have the ac can you please show the filter and how to take it out and put it back in please, I’ve been searching everywhere and can’t find anything on how to take put the filter back in.

Somthing that I noticed about older Haier ACs (Before 2010?) is that they used a black plastic divider, similar to LG, instead of styrofoam like the cheaply made newer units.

I had the same one but it's LG brand I had the same compressor and I have a motor

TLDR : Open plug, don't lose small pieces, let dry for a day or more, speed up drying with hair dryer.

The big spring on the reset button goes on the outer house. Puts tension on the button. I just spent two hours figuring that out.

Just because someone puts it on the road, it doesn't mean they think it's broken. I meam this one was next to a trash can so potentially lol. But we put one by the road once, and while it needed to be cleaned, we knew it wasn’t broken. We were just gifted a new one so figured someone would pick it up, clean and either use it or sell it. Some people may be too lazy to clean it, but they may also just not need it anymore so they put it out for someone else (like you) to grab. Not everyone needs the extra cash so don’t care to sell,but also aren't going to put the work in to cleanit before giving away for free

I have two of them. Find you a remote, if you really want one. The vent likes to drop and face down. Just keep it clean and it'll run.

Who would be able to service one of these? I literally got one for $30
