Hello I am currently in studying in school to become a surgical first assistant and I want to get my BSN in surgical. How do I go about doing that?

Yep. I leave nursing about every two years to do home health aid for a little while because of burn out in long term care.

Thank you so much for sharing this conversation! I really hope to see cannabis discussed more openly in nursing and healthcare in general and its medicinal/healing properties acknowledged. I live in CA and it’s better here than many places but we still have a lot more to do! The incomes for each category are sooo inaccurate

I'm personally working on becoming a Cardiothoracic PA by first becoming a cardiovascular technologist then working on getting my bachelor's degree to apply to PA school. So I'm team Cardiothoracic PA!!!

What's the difference in pay in the first assist roll whether you are first assist as a surgical first assist, RN first assist, PA first assist, etc

RNFA is your First Assist certification, it literally makes no difference in the OR whether you’re an RN or a “surgical NP.”

The reason why the United States should hire our Filipino nurses because they know the English language and they are already used to the American way of life. Given the fact that we have been having similarities in heritage,culture and history especially down South. Nurses from the Philippines have been thinking of working in the States for so long ever since they were in college. So, that means, keep on hiring more Filipino nurses.

America, I presume. The higher paid positions are probably filled by Nurse Practitioners so will have done 1-2 extra years of tertiary training and have years of experience. That’s how it works in Australia.

Pamela. How do you think a pre nursing student deeply driven to becoming a nurse, and nurse educator could start already working on the community and healthcare literacy aspect of entreprenurship? I won't be able to financially enter nursing as a student for a year and a half, but there is a deep drive that is within me everyday and I would love to start making an impact. Even prior to the pandemic, being a consumer/patient in mental and disability healthcare, I know first hand and how deep it needs to change.
