This is my first time I see a picture of Jeremy Dawes. I never had time to watch television. I remember Jeremy Dawes on radio on the English Service of the SABC, Radio South Africa before it became SAfm. That was great radio then. He'd often remind listeners of the line-up for the day and say "Don't forget". His colleague Peter Mellor once called him "the mighty midget". I was Googling his name & found this. Thank you for posting 👋

My understanding of English as a Zulu boy under Bantu education was bad at this time, even as a Grade 10 learner at that time! But somehow I was glued to this show (perhaps there was nothing else before McGyver or The-A-Team came on, plus my mother actually enjoyed it). And right at the end of the video there's a sudden cut of an orchestral piece that was the show theme. Anyone, please tell me what/who that plays it. I need to buy that to introduce to my sons! Thanks for the post Jonno ( is that John Walland by any chance?? )

I listened and watched both Martin's and liked them both. You have to have a few rejections to reach the top. Bailie was a Natural Comedian and didn't put on an act. Somebody once phoned in during competition time and asked Him to play a hit. So He hit the table and said, "that's a hit."

These commercials are wild! I had Pop shop 37 on tape. Don't remember Campus Crunchie nor that American peanut butter but I do remember the advert with that Elvis impersonator getting 'stuck' 'stuck' 'stuck'
