His faith in god was why the most underrated band never got worldwide exposure , the satanic music industry did not like them not sending negative messages much respect

Rest in burke you were a true legend. Budgie should have huge they were that good.... It's criminal that they didn't take the World by storm .. had to be the record company and. management... They gave us a fantastic catalog.....

When I was a lost soul I came across one of Budgie's songs, "Heaven Knows Our Name." I confess I didn't really understand it, but it somehow stuck in my mind and brought comfort to me. About a year or so later, I came to a deeper realization of God's love. I came to trust that Christ's death atoned for my sin, and I asked for God's forgiveness, and help to become a more loving person. Now, I've been very sick for the past two and a half years. Today that song was in my head again, bringing me great comfort. I'm very grateful. Rest in Peace Burke; yes, Heaven does know our name.

I remember living in the UK from 1965 to 1975. Listened to Budgie all the time in the very early years. Always will be the best band I ever heard.

I loved Budgie. Burke Shelly's music called to me in rural Kentucky when I was in my early teens. The college radio station miles away, in the next state, played a song. It was instant love. I just learned of his passing today. A great musician and inspiration to tens of thousands of musicians in country hollows and city caverns around the world.
