I will keep you in mind should I chase sturgeon. I'm still getting over the new regulations and limited keeper season. It's never fun to be told when and where to fish in derby style fisheries. Definitely not as enjoyable as twenty years ago when I last fished below Bonneville.

@@GK34-we2bu these isn't much you can do other than break them off. I was glad I was only using 30lb mono leader, which is what broke .

@@Umakemelaff my boat is an AlumaWeld Talon 16, the fish pulled us against the current at several miles per hour. Pulling the braid by hand only brought the fish up a few feet. When it ran nothing could stop it. The tracking on the Humminbird showed where it decided to take us. It ruled the show. It could have been bigger than the boat.

What model of talon rod is that? And how much weight were u using? Thanks curious about the talons

You have a good eye, I'm use to fishing the upper Willamette, as fish this dark there is a totally different catch. Yes it was done and should have been tossed back. I'm learning more about the local gorge runs.

@@nathanhafezi6120 the Chinook are getting pretty spawned out, a few later comers, but yes Coho and Steelhead at Drano.

25 feet, 14 oz, 18" Coldwater strong anti twist bumper, Shortbus 360, 28 to 30" 40 lbs mono leader Rotten and Twisted SBs are the most productive for me after loosing a Hanford Reach Custom the lake gave me in July. I cried when I lost it back to the deep. It caught six keeper in a row and numerous Tule.

Over half of my catches bit when Colter was playing on my little Bluetooth speaker.

Sorry for the slow reply, keep your mix simple, I got carried away adding everything and couldn't buy a bite. Went back to tuna in oil and Salmon Slammer Oil and finished the season with limits. You can always add more flavors but start simple.

I do on the Big River when conditions merit it.

Only wild coho are released at Drano. Every Wednesday they gill net the entire lake during October.

You can kill wild fish in the fall

Had it been anywhere else I may have returned this Hen to breed. Drano lake is gill netted every Wednesday in October, and they catch a large number of fish indiscriminately including Natives. So its in my smoker right now.

@@owenscott1552 if it was a native Tule i would have released, but it was just a tired old chinook that will fit in the smoker nicely. Probably the last I will keep of the season, its fat reserves were almost depleted, meat was still firm but not fine table quality of chrome fish. Better than any smoked salmon availiable in the stores.

I troll with #2 Owner super needle Trebles. They are brittle and I usually inspect them in between fish.

They are hover fishing, using spot lock with the electric bow motors. They suspend eggs about 4 ft above the bottom, it's actually very effective.

I find it very peaceful solo, just me against the fish. Just prior to this clip, nature called and while on the bow using a p cup I had a fish take my lure forgetting that I'm recording it went rate R quick. 😅 Fishing Solo has its challenges.
