I took my wife there on our second date when she was a student at Randolph-Macon Woman's College. When I ordered her a Cheesy Western, she looked at the relish and said, "What's this?" I replied, "Deliciousness!" Great memories of an Institution I frequented many times during my years at Washington and Lee University.

I never got to try them Always meant to Heard they were good Didn't realize they were local Thought it was a chain. Would like to know what happened But it seams all the eating places in they little strip closed up Chipolite maybe did them in?
Try OIP in Bedford Great pizza. Another place I been to once in Bedford and seamed good All American Family Grill. I think you have done Liberty Station Do these places know your coming to feature them? I assume so. I think many step up their game for you. Too many just been Meh when I go. Dales, Mill Iron, Smileys (too inconsistent in quality and being open) The Hatch Ate there once prob won't again Most of the food was good. But half of it was gold Tea and the service was terrible Burger in the Square, Ernie's, Scotto's have been good nearly every time. Scotto's great prices good food and stuff ya quantity.
Thanks for the comment, yes every restaurant is made aware before I come. I don't just show up. As you can imagine, it's not easy to run and operate a restaurant. Every one of us has bad days and that's no exception for restaurants. Sorry to hear you had some not great dining experiences but I've told people before, I'd go back to every restaurant I've ever featured in this series.
Oh I understand it's tough And why I give most places more than one try But Smiley's for example I ate there 4 times Twice it was good One of those times they opened late. Last time I tried over 2-3 months to go and they were closed 4 times in a row when I showed up. Thanks

Congrats on your 100 Hometown Eats restaurants special. Viewer here from Florida. Discovered your TH-cam channel about two months ago and have watched about thirty episodes so far. My favorite is Joe Hylton and his sister from Hylton's Wood Cooking Grill. Reminds me of the Texas BBQ I loved when I lived in Texas. "If it's good, it doesn't need sauce." Amen. You have a pleasant way of showcasing the restaurants, food and the people behind it all. Editing is great also and you certainly seem to be enjoying the food. Not a bad gig. Congrats again and here's to many more episodes.

@@SailBeforeSunset I really appreciate that & this area is beautiful especially if you're an outdoors fan, lots of great hiking & mountain biking opportunities. The channel has certainly grown over the last 6 months but I don't do it for the numbers, just want people to hear the stories & find some real good food!

You should check out the Pita Pit over on South Jefferson Street, they have some great food there.
I don't feature chain restaurants & the few times I've gone to places that have multiple locations it's because they were started in the Roanoke Valley.
@@LoganSherrillTV Oh okay, the manager of the Pita Pit downtown told me he owned that specific location, so i assumed it was local, i didn't realize they had other locations in the USA. Thanks for letting me know.
