    I noticed the dragonfruits in the back, I bought some cuttings a few months ago and they’ve been doing great but one of my American beauties keeps getting root rot, it’s only the American beauty that gets it I’ve already cut it and had it dry out twice before replanting it and it rotted again, do you think it was just a bad cutting or should I worry about my other cacti too

    • @cactiman3282
      @cactiman3282 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @JulianInclan-Valdez Some cuttings are just more finicky than others. I've once had a cutting sit for a whole year before it rooted. You could try rooting the cutting in pure water instead of soil. You should find it easier to root the cutting in water as long as you consistently replace the water every few days.

    The outside is edible? Like the fibery looking outside? The inside does look like a coconut! It's that part edible? If so - what does it taste like? What's its usage/purpose? (For us or for the plant)

    • @cactiman3282
      @cactiman3282 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @crystaljankowski7518 It is! It has a mushy texture and tastes like fruit loops to me, although the fibers themselves are not edible. The inside tasted like a coconut with much milder flavor; interesting to see, but not worth getting into haha. People here in California mainly plant the trees for ornamental purposes and often overlook the fruit of the tree.

      Dragon fruit grow flowers when they have enough vegetative growth, so the more your dragon fruit weighs, the higher the chances of getting flowers. Other factors are involved, and it is possible to have flowers on very small plants, but vegetative mass is generally the most important factor. 🐉

      Is it in dirt? Could be that it's using all of its energy to grow the branch, and it's becoming skinny because of little to no water intake on account of it not having roots. I would try either rooting in water or possibly cutting off the branch to force it to grow roots. 🐲
