Good Ascent with a rough landing! | Odyssey Test Flight 2
Odyssey’s 2nd test flight is the second flight in Odyssey’s
testing campaign. TF-2’s objectives include Data Logging speed
control, working Acceleration readings, and working Velocity
readings. Odyssey will again be demonstrating that its TVC system
works and has no hidden issues. Another software addition is a timer
based chute deployment which replaces the orientation based one
TF-1 had. Apart from Software changes, Odyssey R1 features a stronger
TVC mount and new aft section.

These are Estes B4-4 motors I believe. They use black powder propellant
Hi guys, I really interested with mechanical item I had a background in mechanical engineering (CAD/prototyping) But, I have no clue about coding Do you have any suggestion for me what should I learn to build rocket like yours? Previously I ever built Autonomous Plane using iNAV but there is no coding involved I am wondering how did you get the actual data such as gyro, altitude and process it through feed back for the engine (control system)
@Indonesia01ian I can't really give too much advice because I am still prototyping and developing this rocket however I can provide some basic helpful information. For reading orientation, you need some kind of inertial measurement unit (IMU). I use the MPU6050, it isn't the most accurate but it works. For starting out I would recommend using the Arduino Nano 33IOT which has a built in IMU called the LSM6DS3. For reading angles from the raw orientation values, ChatGPT can help with that and it works really well. For altitude, use a barometer like the Adafruit BMP280. for the body of the flight computer I whould use small breadboards since they are beginner friendly. I used a Proportional controller at first which is part of a PID. You should really join my discord server though which is linked in the description of this video. I have some people on there who might be willing to help. Some of them even helped me a lot.
