Will the plugs only fit in one direction? For example, say the top of one end of the adapter is flipped on the other end. If so, will that cause any issues?

Hello, I’ve got an Amazon setup for CarPlay that I believe mirrors RSNav on my B8 S4 6MT. The box has a reverse trigger and video wire input which I connected the video feed and small red wire to from the camera wiring. Ran the wiring to the back and I connected the positive wire to the reverse bulb wire on the passenger side (US Spec so right side) and the ground didn’t go anywhere. Whether it was connected or not, the camera only works when it’s in reverse and the acc is on engine off. When the engine is on, the camera will engage but the video feed doesn’t work. In the case of this video, given the voltage is varying when it comes to the reverse light bulb, would putting the relay in help? Or does something else need to be done? I read another comment where you said that the relay isn’t needed? I’m a bit lost and would appreciate some guidance if you’re willing. Thanks so much

Thanks for this. However, I didnt get one from RSnav. Installled mine per your instructions, however, the screen is not turning on and neither are any of the buttons working. Any tips would be greatly helpful

Brotherly advice, I would blur out my license plates for privacy reasons. Many TH-camrs initially make such mistakes in the beginning of their u tubing journey. It’s a freaky world out there.

The 4 pin layout on the after market 4pin connectors for the mirrors should be, the male pins should go to the mirror sides and the female connectors should be on the video controller side. Just think, the regular extension cord connection to a wall receptacle protocol. Power source takes the female side and the consumer side takes the male side, for safety reasons. Think about it. U have done a good job with the overall installation.

I think u might have made a small mistake installing your mirror wires at the door frame plug, u did cut off the aluminum stray noise aluminum shielding splice. The AL shield is necessary to keep emf noise intro into your cam feed from the side cams to your video ecu. I hope I’m wrong. A remedy, just shield the 4pin connectors with AL foil this way to minimize the e-stray noise into your video bus.

i thought the front cam cable you go thru the ECU box? are you sure poking a hole in the groumet is safe for waterproofing/debris getting in?

do you have the link for the 360 cameras? i found one on ali express that is a universal kit and looks to be roughly the same but am not sure if it would work. i already have a headunit but its not RSNAV

Hi Daniel, great guides you make. I’m trying to setup the pairing with the RSNav, when you say you pair it to the USB, does the RSNav require a Bluetooth dongle to pair the OBD reader to?

I have that exact dashcam. BlackVue right? Neither link you provided has the mirror adapter to just power the dashcam, without a radar detector.
