Surprised Ars Magica 2 and Witchery did not even make it into this list. Seeing as they where once of the 5 magical mod colosses, altho Ars Magica fell guite guickly at the beginning of 1.7.10 modpacks popularity.

I'm surprised that this iceburg had pixelmon but not Cobblemon, JurassiCraft, Farmers delight, Inventory pets, Artifacts/curios, ect... I this video couldn't have every mod ever on it, but i remember these and a few others being extremely popular and long lasting, so i was surprised when they weren't even mentioned. The video seems to be largely focused on the tech side of modding, which is kinda sad. If you ever update the iceburg, it would be nice if you included more famous mods outside outside of the tech sphere.

Oh god, the entire Curseforge API drama. I remember being pissed because MultiMC couldn't download CF packs anymore. Then I discovered that Overwolf was an Israeli company, the Curseforge Launcher has ads in it and requires the Overwolf Launcher to be open, and the CF launcher introduces more bugs than an entomology student into modpacks. Needless to say, I genuinely hate Curseforge for this shitty decision, and have resolved to never use their shitheap of a launcher.

I hate better Minecraft just for the simple fact that there are so many animal mods. During my play through, I looked for HOURS on end for a sheep. I couldn’t find a single one. I just quit after that.

42:24 I wish more people knew and modded the beta versions, the only mods it gets are full conversions, modpacks like the mango pack are so much fun to mess with but due to it's age it doesn't get very many new mods with these mods mainly being old versions of mods.

Funny how I barely know the 1st layer mods, but the Mods I know are 2nd and 3rd layer (Or later) mods. Since my favourite and most nostalgic Minecraft version was 1.7.10

havent finished watching the video yet but something i wouldve wished to see mentioned more in minecraft modding discussion are the yearly modfest events showcasing cool new or work in progress mods. i dont know much about it myself but i think its structured like gamejam competitions, trying to push for modders to develop new and experimental mods in a limited amount of time and submit them. theres always cool stuff coming out of them id also like to mention the "japanese" genre of mods that are often overlooked like heat and climate, applemilktea, littlemaidmob etc that often add things you dont see often in the western modding landscape or have unique takes on them like the highly detailed 3d foods in HaC and AMT compared to pam's harvestcraft/farmers delight and the seasons mechanic in HaC. pretty sure there was even a mod that allowed importing MMD models and play as highly detailed hatsune miku and such while looking extremely out of place, complete with animations. but there's also an unrelated mod called Figura that accomplishes the same thing but with low poly models so it's a lot better looking also, silent's gear and tetra aren't close at all to what tinker's construct ever aimed to be, tetra at least is so incredibly nerfed and overtuned to the point that the best tool you can make in it is WORSE than an efficiency 5 diamond pick from VANILLA despite taking way more effort to get there. i have never put much time into silent's but the way the mod is constructed definitely feels less customizable than tinker's

Both the original video, and this addition are great! I have a few more mods I'd like to mention. The first is the Archimedes Ships mod. It was a popular mod that added the ability to add fully moving boats, airships, and submarines(correct me on that if I'm wrong). The original mod hasn't been updated in a long time, and likely won't have a comeback, but it's still beloved by many, and people look for an equivalent of the mod. The second is a more personal one that I have bias towards, and that is Cracker's Wither Storm Mod, which brings the Wither Storm from Minecraft Story Mode into the game, and is the most popular version of the concept. The mod both is very accurate and loyal to how it is in the original game, and also takes creative liberties to add new mobs, items, recipes, and mechanics into the game.
