How to change battery?

I just bought a Vtg 1940s Incarna Military Style 31mm Chrome Cased Gents Wrist Watch Cal AS 984.

I would like to see a hard plastic and replaceable crown TUBE screwed into the fibershell case or a stainless sleeve and a steel replaceable crown tube - should give at least 100m WR. Bertuccis' Retroform does. I had the TSAR Diver when it was half the price it is now. Hated it. Too bulky. Too heavy, especially too top heavy. The bezel action was rubbish, the crown felt very flimsy when extended and the date started sticking too and it was NEW! Sold it for a Marathon GPM with U.S. Government markings, in black of course!

The type face looks wrong to me. Amazing they went to such trouble.. I bought a Favre Leuba Seaking from a antique store some time ago for about £30 pretty certain its an Indian special bought on the spare of the moment really. Odd thing i😅😅😅s it keeps excellent time love the black face and the finish is pretty good ... 😅😅

I bought the 37mm version of the quartz watch with the small seconds sub-dial. Model FC-235M4S4. It ticks smoothly at such small size! Accurate, beautiful, thin. A wonderful dress watch.

What army did you serve in? A field watch is for use by soldiers in the course of their duties. Unless you are a special duty person like a diver, in which case you get issued a diver's watch, you do NOT need 100+m of water resistance. In my 40+ years of army service I certainly never needed it. You need it water resistant enough to withstand a hard rain, a trip through the decon shower, a shallow soaking in a river crossing, or a fall out of an assault boat. For that, 30m is quite sufficient.

I think it's real. Looks like a 715 movement. Made in the 70's when oris struggled to keep going so they made budget friendly watches. I'm no expert though

Beautiful watch. But being spoiled by aliexpress homages, i would like sapphire on the top. To be honest i really want a homage of Poljot de Luxe. Those were the best looking dress watches.

Hey. What is the minimum length of the strap? My wrist is small (16,7cm) and I am not sure if the smallest setting of the strap is short enough for my wrist. I would love to buy this watch.

Thank you for the look. The tan colour looks nice and has a lot of character. From what I've heard, I think they are quite a good quality, understated and practical watch. I just brought the same watch in black with the mechanical movement, and tritium. It will be here in a few days.

I have a 1978 Timex Q reissue in 35 mm that looks almost identical to this watch, except that it has a second hand. It's a stunning looking watch, one that my dad would have worn during that time period. I've had it running for a couple of months now, and it's been very accurate.

It was genuine, I think, but old. I have a very similar one purchased in 1975 new from a normal UK jeweller. Then Oris was not a high-end brand and made everyday watches. Like many Swiss watchmakers suffering from new battery watches in the 70s and 80s they repositioned themselves and improved their product and market position. Mine cost £25 then If I remember correctly.

I may be wrong but that looks like a modern lever type escapement movement as opposed to an Oris pin-lever escapement. Any thoughts guys?

Enjoy the watch. Don’t take yourself too seriously. $/£40. is not a lot of money. You didn’t waste your money. You spent it on a nice, fun watch. Again, don’t take yourself too seriously.

What did this wonderful watch sell for?

The ref 99 is part of NSN ( Nato stock number) and year of manufacture is 2004 as the last two digits only of date were shown

This watch is a really good watch for its price. I bought mine four years ago and have just recently changed the battery. I got mine for £29.99 from Argos when it came out and like your watch it is in immaculate condition. I was attracted to the classic look of this watch with the Roman Numerals which I really like and the design is original by Casio and doesn't copy any other watch brand. I quite like the strap also even though it is a folded link bracelet at this price point. Today in 2022 it is currently priced at £34,99 on Amazon UK which I think is still very good value for money.

Hit it with a hammer and throw it in the bin. It most definitely is not an ORIS. The case back is clumsy and the movement is wrong.

Why would go to all that trouble to produce such a smashing watch, looked amazing, I have never an Oris, the movement looked amazing, was £40 a good price?, think you need an expert to help you, or get it valued by a watch expert.

Then if it breaks, stick a new movement inside, rather than chuck it away, this way preserve it for the masses.

Also pretty sure this is a Mumbai Special. But a pretty nice one. Just wear the damn thing. Maybe not if you go to a Oris Boutique

I may be wrong but to me this looks verry much like a Mumbai Special... If you got this from India for less than thirty quid then its a fake... Ask me how I know... 😄😄
