That was a real shake down
Reminds me of the time I worked as an electrical technician, at Morpheus Lights, who did the stage lighting for the Grateful Dead, Santana, and many others. We got free passes to all the Bay Area shows 🔥 The best job I ever had ❤
I love the collaborations, and this is a great one!

Here's the video to the Post about Jerry Garcia and Carlos Santana playing a benefit in Petaluma ... Sorry...
Was that at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds?
I'm still wearing my AIM shirts!
Y presentados por nada menos que Fernando Alegría, un notable escritor Chileno
Garcia stage presence Answering Santana and giving him something to play against that blends the whole band together He makes it look so easy. Just ripping it and checking in with the band the whole time👏👏
I worked with a flight mechanic from the Sudan Heart of gold in all the people I met from there. You ask Abda where he is from? His answer is TEXAS😀 You ask about the 12 inch scar on his side He got that in TX delivering pizza and got carjacked. Came conscious at a stop light rolled out the door in the street and got rushed to the hospital in TEXAS. Surely a second shot at life🤯
Jerry's guitar sounds are so soothing .. 🌞🔥
Alguien sabe el nombre de la primera cancion??
Huajra, de Atahualpa Yupanqui.
💗♾️🌞🌄🌈🍀💫
What a pro.. love and miss him so much! ❤ you all..
That is Michael Hinton playing guitar both of them gone now.
The right song for this benefit. Jerry was feelin' good playing with his friend Carlos. Jerry was all smiles.
Tiger 🐅 Tiger 🐅 burning 🔥 brightly … loved Jerry’s smile
not bad for a two chord song.
Throw it down one time, big man! Look at Jerry move! ❤️
Harmonica among top 3 favorite instruments to listen to, all the way from Toots Thielmans to Stevie Wonder. But I think this man outshines all of them. Amazing!
I have really fond memories of seeing the choir in those days! 🤩
Man…… Who plays, sings, writes and performs better than Norton? Loved him.
Jerry looks happy
Thank You
Esa fue la formación del Inti que vi en Talca a penas volvieron del exilio
Klasse Video 👍🏼 schönes Konzert. Vielen Dank 🤝🏼
Holy f--k
Thank you for sharing this historical treasure! 🙏🏼💜
This is just FRICKIN GREAT!!❤❤
I loved seeing Norton Buffalo and the Knockouts many, many, many times… sure miss that beautiful talent. He was such a kind human❤️
Thanks for posting this. My (then) husband and I attended with our 2 month old son. For more than a decade, I've been searching old videos of this event in hopes of finding a glimpse of us in the background footage. I found us at 33:25...he's standing (bearded, pale blue T shirt + green shorts) and holding the baby and I'm seated in front of him (leaning forward, braided hair, white T shirt). What a treasure!
You are welcome. Thanks for your comments.
Met him in the 80’s. Nice guy. He played golden melodies back then. Can play both diatonic and chromatic
I first saw him at Lou’s at S F, then at SF Music Halll. He told my sister that he was from Richmond, Ca. I told Norton I would Never folllow a lower classmen. Then he talked to me about his relationship with the Anshuiits family.? I was a classmate with Rick since middle school. His older brother was friends with my brother, Kelly took me to my Jr. Prom. We never dated or had any relationship. Many years later I saw Norton at Vinnies at Concord. He remembered that I saw him Lou’s and the Great America Music Hall. He also told me that Kelly had passed from a heart attack. I was overwhelmed since my brother had passed 6 months prior.Kelly and my brother were friends from high school football. That was in June then the comments went out that Norton had stage 4 lung cancer: I was devastated. I have never gotten over his passing. I miss his music.
Norton and I were in High School together (before he changed his name) - he played trombone in the school band, but he had a bandolier of harmonicas that he played in several garage bands around Richmond, CA. I was off in the Navy when I read about a rising star in the Steve Miller Band, some harp blower from the East Bay...
When we hooked up later on, he always said he wanted to record a tuba & harmonica duet, but that never happened.
That is so cool that you were classmates back in high school! I read that he played the trombone too in his school’s jazz bands. Do you remember if he ever played harmonica in the school besides at talent shows? I figure he must have been in the choir or school musicals too.
@@BoazKimMusic he mostly kept the harmonica playing to the garage bands, not in school very much. We didn't share any classes except for band (concert, marching, jazz) and Pep Band (not a class.) I don't think he was in any of the choirs. I was a year ahead of him, don't know what he did in his senior year.
@@domitype Thanks for the reply! Super cool still! I hope you’re getting to play your tuba!
@@BoazKimMusic not as much as before the covid plague, and I'm getting old - but I do get some gigs. I have played in many parts of the world, had a good run.
John Allair is so damn good. Only seen him live once. Wish I had lived closer during those days. Thanks for sharing this
You're welcome. These are John's favorite tunes as he requested for editing.
Song at 14:30 is called "Bens Boogie" named after my grandfather. Sasha was my inspiration to start playing the piano. He is still incredible to this day! Thanks for sharing this
Tell me more about Sasha.I can post this great tune with more information about Sasha and his piano music
@@creativelight100 I first met and saw him open the SF blues festival when he was younger than he is in this video. His father on bass (just like in this video) and I helped him put some stuff on stage. I asked "what are you gonna play?" He said "A tribute to James Booker". He rocked the 88s so well I fell in love with that type of music from then on and found the passion for the piano because of him. I saw him a few times in Sebastopol at my grandfather's after this. He was getting better and better. Then he played at his going away party for college and John Allair played as well. Super fun. He also came to play in my hometown at a street parade. Made a CD of it. Fun times. This was all a long time ago. Still keep in contact with him and his father 🙂
@@Bullwinkel Thanks for your reply.
A great live performance. Very special with a feeling that you don’t get from studio versions.
