I think this was recorded at the Air Force Academy between 1993 - 95. Lt General Hal Moore provides an overview of leadership and discusses the events of the fight at Landing Zone Xray in the Ia Drang valley of Vietnam.

Interview with Hal Moore from June 1966 in Vietnam. He discusses tactics his brigade successfully used in several major operations. Last half of the video was shot in a helicopter over the Bong Son plain where Moore discusses how that campaign was conducted. I do not know who recorded the interview - found this video buried in the basement at Moore's home.

The early coverage is pretty sketchy given the less capable communication means existing in 1965. Think how terrifying it was for the families back home to hear "the brunt of the human wave attacks was borne by General Custer's old unit.."This footage was recorded by the Department of Defense.
