This is 2009. Video starts at Toof Road in FairFax and crosses 104. Shows just how much the trails have changed in 15 years. Arctic Cat 2002 ZR800 CCE and 1988 ElTigre' 6000.

The extent of my local riding in Cambridge, Vt for the year(24Mar2024). This is the first time we have had enough snow to venture out and is as far as I care to go in these conditions. Made it as far as Cambridge Market. Still fun to get out. Bought my house because it is on the trail and since that time snow conditions have been rapidly depleting.

@jmj267 that's because you can feel all the corn stocks and frozen mounds of dirt. Not to mention unpackable snow.

We rode out of parking area on 111 at Seymour Lake. Was a good ride.
George is there still snow up there?
Yes at the time there was still snow. We went back up to ride on the 25. The warm up made getting to the main trail impossible. 3 big hills, all ice, dirt and rock. It was sickening. Our friends made it out and were able to put on 80 miles, but after sliding backwards twice and finally seeing the 3rd hill I was done.

What a weird start to the winter season, I hope this subsides quickly. Usually, if one area of the snow belt is brown, then another area is getting above average snowfall. Not this year - Except for the mountains, it seems like nobody has snow yet (and, even the mountains seem to have below average snow for this time of year)
Same crap happened last year too. I didn't have my first trail ride till the 28th of January. Very sad. Hopefully it turns around.

My 2020 Alpha just went down on me. Yes, I have a Turbo on it, but this sled has been a Lemon since day one. Tons of issues,lack of power being one of them
What's the top speed on the 800rr you get

Waiting to hit 1000 miles before going wide open. I've only had it up to 100, so far.
If you only knew what was to come...How did that end up anyway? New motor?
No Cat only replace the side of the engine that went down. I also had the safety bulletin done where they flash the ECU to run richer in the target area of the known issue. Been running great. Might send the ECU to Speedwerx's this summer to be flashed. They are more precise.
Thanks for the GREAT collection of Videos...I am a CAT fan since my dad bought a '72 panther & all my uncles / cousins had Cats in the '70's I got a '99 JAG 440DLX.. & 2000 ZL 550ESR...both beaters that I fixed up (Last 6 years) I even went to bone yard and got a reverse box for the JAG. (All new bearings / sliders front and rear, even put in grease fittings where Cat should have). Don't have to have a foot and a half of travel to have fun. Plus: those young punks never work on there sleds other than slapping on a pipe, then ride on trails without paying Club dues.
Glad you enjoyed them. Been riding Cat for 42 years now. Started out on a 372cc Hirth 1969 Panther. Worked my way up from there.
Yep, the 2020+ 8000's are known to burn down the (mag side) piston. Lots of folks having this issue. There is a recent cat advisory in regards to this. Don't kid yourself, these newer sleds are coming super lean from the factory to meet stiff EPA restrictions. I got the precision efi mapping for my 2019 ZR8000. The precision doesn't have to adhere to EPA restrictions.
Mine was PTO side. Had mine serviced in November.
Being from Mn thought about an AC..2stroke.. not sure about it now “while meeting Tier III EPA emissions requirements. We have yet to see the exact emissions numbers but would logically expect it to be higher in unburned hydrocarbon output than an E-TEC, but who buys a snowmobile based on EPA numbers? We buy a sled for the power, reliability and performance it offers, hoping it will do so with good fuel economy and run smoothly without emptying the oil tank.“
You need to keep that thing to the right you drift off to the left quite a bit on them corners Have fun but be safe .
Been riding for 42 years. Trust me I'm extremely aware of all my surroundings always. This is March on a weekday and no traffic all day.

Just came across your videos this sucks,in this day and age with the price of these new sleds they should be automotive reliable,I ride with every sled brand and sometimes you just get the 🍋, hopefully warranty is good and you'll be rolling for this winter 👍👍,

That up in VT? I am from Mass and this past season was the first time I ever ventured up to Vermont, we left a few times from Woodford, VT and once from Mass and ended up in Readsboro. Went up to the West Dover/Mount Snow area as well as the Manchester area. It was amazing, they have a great trail system up there. I am looking forward to getting back up there next season! How do you like your new Cat? I ride an older Firecat F6, still a blast to ride and extremely dependable...I was thinking of possibly upgrading though to a Procross 6000 semi soon.

@@FIRESHOCK88 honestly I really love the Firecat, for the last of the "conventional sleds" it's fairly easy to stand up on and the the seating position isn't too bad. The suspension soaks up the bumps pretty good too, so I figure a Procross would be really amazing
Yeah you would enjoy the new cats .the firecats are awesome sleds .but the ZR RR is one of the best sleds period. You can ride them all day and not miss a beat.
@@anthonywallman4608 I would love to find one someday. I have been keeping my eye open for a ZR 6000 RXC. I saw a few for sale at the end of last season but this year the market went completely crazy and used sled prices went through the roof. The 6000s are kind of scarce too around here....newer Arctic Cats in general are. There are tons of Firecats for sale but Procross machines are few and far between. I do love to charge the bumps and I bet the Procross suspension, no matter the package, will be extremely fun and capable!

2020-ZR 8000 RR 2500 hard miles on it so far and not a single issue with mine yet.
My 2021 limited did the same damn thing. No codes, no warning .
Sorry to here it! Really sucks.
They got it torn down today. Guess it's a mapping problem that leans them out a known power range. No fix available from artic cat I'm told
@@rockermcmanus2185 Yes I heard 6000-6900 RPM. Have not had any issues in this range since the rebuild. That being said the injector had to play a part in the issue.
So any advice to guys that haven't had theirs blow yet, I keep calling dealers and nothing... I just want to try and make sure mine don't blow up
Are the 6000 blowing up to or is it just a problem with the 8000?
So far I have only heard its been the 8000's. Hoping Cat puts a bulletin at least!

George, my 21 rr seized also , did they replace your whole engine or just the piston and cylinder and did they tell you it is cured or can it blow up again ?
Cylinder and piston here. Also only one of the fuel injectors which I think is Bullshit. Never said it was cured. Did say Cat had not quite nailed down the issue.
Had the Safety Bulliten done at the dealer. Remaped the ECU.
