In my current clinical role, I am responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment/management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Felt like I broke my toe yesterday I fell from tripping on a chair leg running from my toddler playing tag 🏷️ 😭 it turned a different color today and it still hurts was uncomfortable last night to sleep couldn’t sleep with my toe touching a way turned it then I was fine my toe is straight STILL so I hope it’s okay and gets better 🥲
Last Friday morning I stubbed three of my toes and the top of my foot. The pain is unbearable but I don't think they are broken. It's miserable having three toes affected and then the top of the foot also. So very sore and swollen. It's just agony, hope you heal quickly
Open the fridge this morning, and a heavy glass top of a pot wasn't on correctly and fell right on my big toe.. i hope it's not broken, but im in pain now
This doctor is zero bullshit talk.
I'm glad I called my podiatrist because he's amazing and ordered an x-ray before seeing me. Thank goodness he didn't tell me it'll just heal on its own. I have a high tolerance to pain, and "Oh, you may have bruised it" wouldn't have worked for me because the X-ray should I had a significant break. I'm a type 1 diabetic and need to heal properly. I'm buddy taping my toes, ice behind my knee to flow to my foot, keeping my foot elevated and staying completely off of it with very limited walking per day (4k steps or less) and in a soft foot boot to protect my toe...this regimen is for 3 weeks before repeating another x-ray at about 6 to 8 weeks to make sure my toe has properly healed. I've incorporated an additional step of using infrared light therapy to speed up healing, blood flow, and collagen, as well as reducing pain and discomfort in my toe/foot.

Very helpful! Thank you! ❤
I dropped a plate on my toe and then I got angry and kicked a brick with the same toe
Does a stubbed toe color?
Great informative video right to the point. Thanks 🙏
I dont think i broke my toe, but its swollen ,hurt when i touch on the side. Is mucle plain cream is enough?
is there a chance that it doesn't heal properly and then the doctors have to break it again or something? I stubbed my toe last week in the "end" part of the toe and am curious.
Sorry this is a bit long... I stubbed my right pinkie toe sept 27th, 2024 ( this yr. ) Returned to lay down said dang that hurt. On the 28th i saw my foot was a little swollen, but no broken skin, no blood. On the 29th, my toe was slightly blue. I said i must have broke it. All a doc would do is tape it to the next toe so .. also i was able to wear my shoe and didn't have pain. (I'm a type 2 diabetic with neuropathy, and have pinched nerves in my back). On the 30th, it was a darker blue. On oct1st, my toe and side of my foot were turning black. Off to the E.R. we went. E.R. doc took one look and said you know you're losing that toe, right? Yeah i kinda figured that. I was admitted and they amputated my toe and any portion of my foot that was black. The first time the hubs saw it post surgery, he paled and stated 10% of your foot's gone! I was on 3 iv antibiotics 24/7. Couple of days later the doc debrided it . And stated he'd give it over the weekend and check it. And said they might have to order medical maggots if it wasn't improving. Luckily it improved. I was discharged oct 9th. However they put in a gorshon in my chest because i go to the iv therapy room/ outpatient. everyother day to sit for 2 hours getting iv antibiotics. Plus i'm taking cipro and smz twice a day. And the nurse checks my foot, uses dakins mixed with saline to "clean" the wound, then packs it with 2 4x4's soaked in the dakins mix and wraps it back up. My husband cleans it, etc every evening. I got told today the length and width are about the same, but the depth is less. After all this i'll take what i can get.
Is it normal for your toe to go numb, and you lose sensation in it?
My toe is broken it hurts
Hi what are the serious or underlying causes of this haemorrhage? What tests are usually done to find out the serious reasons of this subconjunctival hemorrhage especially if its recurrent..please reply.
آفرین عالی بود دکتر جان. 👍

This is so useful! Thank you so much! Mine is straight and is just bruised and swollen, but not extremely painful, so won’t go hospital. You’ve just saved me a lot of money!

I'm 61 years old I broke my toe probably about 5 years ago or at least I stubbed it I didn't think it was broke it really didn't swell however it's the The tone next to my big toe and it's now the tippest crooked I try to straighten it out but of course it won't stay straight and I can't put pressure on it because of course now that first knuckle wants to take all the pressure from the weight of how I walk and it's painful I can't get surgery and do a splint because they try doing that When I had bunion surgery and they had to go in and remove the metal because I was having an allergic reaction to it. Other than using one of the tow bandage type of splints is there anything else I can do to correct this or does it just stay this way forever now?
I broke my toe 3 1/2 months ago. It still hurts. When will the pain stop? I’m taking poppy plant tincture under the tongue for the pain.
My toe hurts just as much today as it did when I hit it with my mom's wheelchair two years ago. I never knew to try the buddy taping. I'll try it. I'm really tired of this pain. I didn't find any helpful advice when I looked at the time. Thanks
I bumped it hard last night 😢. 😣 😣 😣 hurts

Thank you. I feel much relieved nw, coz I banged my toe and was upset for the pain and swelling .
I broke my toe today and it hurts 😢
Person: I think I broke my toe. Doctor: Sucks for you, go home.
All you can do is buddy tape them.
