Interesting video seems a great shame it’s been left to rot. With the housing shortage they could have made it into flats or apartments years ago.

Also to be noted as far as naming roads go etc I’ve also got a bit more history there, the only thing you didn’t mention and I feel is worth a mention - There is a tunnel named near by to the old farmhouse that you walked to in this video, called ‘forger’s walk’ which runs through turnberry park which was named by a local school girl at the time who won a competition to name said tunnel. Bit of extra interesting history for you there. Not sure if you saw it or not.

Hi Brenda here. I am the secretary of The Friends of Queslett Nature Reserve. Thank you for a super presentation of The Queslett Nature Reserve. Maybe you could come back in the spring and and especially in mid-summer when the reserve is in full bloom and is absolutely gorgeous to do another film!!! You find that in mid winter is quiet for bird spotting as a lot of the smaller birds have migrated hence there was little to see on the Queslett Lake. But a Heron has often been seen there and we have buzzards, sparrow hawks as well as they nest in the woods. Green ring necked parrakeets are settling now on the QNR. Thank you for showing the memorial plaque and tree of Cllr Keith Linnecor who is also my cousin, it is is coming up to the anniversary of his death on the 14h February and it has been five years since we lost him. If you had turned left and went towards the Old Horns Crescent entrance you would have seen another memorial plaque in dedication to Keith as the paths through the reserve have been re-named Linnecor Way ( before it was ASDA WAY) and the woodland on the right hand side has been named Linnecor Wood in memory of our Keith. Just one small comment is why did you film that piece of litter in the hedgerow? The reserve is litter picked quite often and that one piece of litter is out of reach our litter pickers and we do have a long reach pole to try and get it out but we haven`t got around to it yet. Yes, it brought back many memories for me. I was surprised when you turned from Turnberry Avenue into Haddon Road and then into Sterndale Road. There are so many roads in Great Barr that you could driven in. Did you do it for me?! I was born and brought up in Sterndale Road 87 years ago. If I had been with you, I could have made so comments as you drove along. It must have been early on Sunday morning; so few cars about. Good wide-angled views. Thank you so much.
