    so please some questions, i hope that you can answer me: 1- the starting date of the orientation year visa is the day you enter the NL or from you appointment date? as they mentioned that the visa started the day you applied. 2- can i inform the ind with "fake" i mean late entrance date and hence get extra month of my visa? for example i inform them that i'll enter on the 1st of september but actually i'll go there by 1st of august? can i still enter the NL even i told them this late entrance date?

    • @diasporafrican
      @diasporafrican 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know what the process is like these days but for me, the IND emailed me to ask when I would arrive in the Netherlands (8th Aug) and that would be the start date of the Orientation year. In theory, I could have given them a date a month later like 9th Sep but enter in August with the MVV that last 3 months. However I would have then spent a whole month there without a residence permit, meaning no bank account, no rental contract, you are basically a tourist on the mvv. I would say its not really worth it, unless you already have family or friends in NL to stay with for that "fake" month.

    Hi, i have commented on the next video, but do i have to prepare the Nuffic credential evaluation and get the final evaluation paper before I apply for the orientation tear visa? Or can i just fill out and submit the application and send all the documents later for the access. I am quite running out of time now.. so i am bit worried if i cannot get all the required documents before I apply…

    • @asiimwe
      @asiimwe 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean you are running out of time? When did you graduate from that top 200 University? Yes it’s still a requirement even if the University course was in English. The evaluation is a Dutch document converting your education to its dutch equivalent. I remember Nuffic offered an express service not sure if they still do.

  • @Emztrynewthings

    Hi, thank you for this video. It really helps me to go through this orientation visa alone. Yet, i have a question 10:12 , so i graduated the top 200 university in the world and also from English speaking country, i do still need the Nuffic’s international credential evaluation paper right?? I am running out of time right now so i might gonna request this paper before i apply for this visa… the website they indicated is providing the service i think and i have to pay for the service.. idk it works like that. Cuz Nuffic said that the procedure will take like 4-6 weeks. If it’s not necessary then i will just copy my diploma.. hope you can give me some answers. Thanks.

      Hi, You have to do the Nuffic evaluation else your documents wouldn’t be accepted at their embassy according to their embassy in Shanghai.And yeah you gotta pay it takes a month before you can get your documents evaluated. Hopefully my response helps 🤓

    • @asiimwe
      @asiimwe 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed Bernice is right. I remember there was an “urgent” application service on their website where they did it in 2 weeks if you paid more. But I’m not sure if it’s still available. I don’t know the deadline for your application, but please go to the Dutch embassy and ask, maybe you can submit the documents including confirmation of submission for evaluation. The application takes about 3 months anyway, maybe they’ll reach out to you to provide the Nuffic, I’m just speculating of course but give it a try.

      @@diasporafrican Thank you so much for the reply, I was worried the date would be the day you received your approval letter. It's nice to know that if you got accepted in November, you technically could say something like January 10th if you don't want to move there around the holidays!

    Thanks for sharing your experience. Happy to learn about, and share, the experiences of other zoekjaar fellows. I'm definitely sharing this on my website: www.zoekjaargirl.nl/

    Hi Man, kudos on the video series, it was very informative. I've got some couple of questions. 1. Can one apply for the visa and get it delivered via email or post to another country. For example, applying from the UAE and getting it delivered to Canada because your visa for the UAE would expire in say less than two weeks? 2. Is it possible to apply for the Zoekjaar from within the Netherlands on a Schengen visa? I look forward to your quick response at your earliest convenience, I need to make a quick decision on the time left on my visa.

      I think its possible to have the visa sent to another country different from the one the original application was made from but you'd have to confirm with the Embassy. I don't think Its possible to apply from within the Schengen zone unless you are already a resident of Netherlands on another visa that isn't a visitor visa. Its always best to walk up or call to the neareast Dutch Embassy or consulate or ask the IND directly.

    Hi! Thank you for your videos, I applied for the Orientation Year and got accepted. I was confident that I would get the visa, but the waiting period was stressful. There were a couple of things that diferred compared to your experience. Now I am in the Netherlands but there are a couple of things I don't quite get how RH will hire me and the 30% ruling, could you please help me here?

      Great to hear that you are here too: I'm not sure of the questions you are asking about. You can do whatever job you want while on the zoekjaar, but if you want to stay on after, there's a minimum income you must make to then have the visa upgraded to highly skilled immigrant. I don't know enough about the 30% ruling yet. Hopefully I'll cover these in future videos
