I do videos on odd old video games I care about. Mostly Japanese ones, but there may be exceptions.
Delving Into the Mysterious Machinations of - Pink Gear Collection
I need to get less ambitious with these.
This video is lighter on translation work than I usually do. Mostly because someone else already did it. Go watch them, the game's cool!

It's crazy how much a bad cold can change the course of a video. As in Athena, all translation is my own work. Didn't do as much of it this time though, for obvious reasons. Giftpia footage recorded on Dolphin. Chulip footage recorded on PCSX2. All music used is from Giftpia... I think. I could be forgetting a song or two I used from elsewhere. They're all named in the video itself, anyway.

正しい発音を知らないのに、なぜわざわざ日本語の専門用語を使うのか? 本当にバカみたいだ。
8:45 - Is that the one and only Barry Burton doing some of the voice acting?! Wow what a journey! I knew nothing about King of Fighters or Athena as a character before this, but you lead us through an excellently guided tour, it feels like I've just watched a B-List Japanese light psychological horror movie, what an odd game. With more movie than game it seemed, it felt like it took the DNA of Clock Tower and then decided to do something quite different with its premises. (Well, it worked out better than Ghost Head, to be sure, haha!) I have to wonder if they planned on something a bit more... ambitious. I find the systems to be quite curious. That you have a screen to look at your ESP almost implies that they wanted a manual function of some kind and the healing items are an odd touch, in the first place when it seemed that ESP wasn't really used that much (outside of Telepathy and saving, I suppose) and the Emergency situations seemed a bit bare bones, while a neat idea conceptually though. Thank you for sharing, I really like your style, the massive amounts of work it must take to manually translate over several hours worth of dialogue, and your raw delivery. You made me a fan from your Airs' Adventure video and I'm interested to see what you have planned next!
You done an excellent job turning a miserable experience into an entertaining time.
If it is 2D.....
What a unique channel and its interesting to see a real focus on the overall story and its systems, despite it being a bit of a mess from start to finish. I'll keep an eye out for what you've cooked up next! You are right that the music sounds excellent, and the graphical style has its charms, some of the cinematography of the cutscenes is still quite impressive.
Sweet, I hope you'll be covering more stuff like this in the future
is this the amazing digital circus
Exactly the kind of thing I’m subbed for.
BABE WAKE UP, NEW SMALL CHANNEL LONG FORM GAMING VIDEO DROPPED
Thanks for a look at another strange game I never would have heard of if you hadn't mentioned it. The Saturn library really just has a bunch of obscure things like this that are always interesting to hear about.
Amazing Video on an other wise historical mess of a game. Defo a game worth observing as a game creator. What not to do a such. I like ur style of story telling and editing, Subscription well deserved! Looking forward to watching more of u in the future ✨KK愛

i like ur channel thanks for helping me relax
It really feels that they are lifting the story from five star stories

I bought this just because it was the cheapest game available on eBay
This and Endonesia are some of the Love-de-lic associated games I'm most interested in.
I only found out about Senko no Ronde after finding a doujin centered around Cuilan. Pure accident, I swear.
Thumbnail giving thorhighheels vibes
thanks for taking us back to the past to play some shitty games that suck ass
Less than 500 subbies ? WHAAAAAAAAA..... this is pretty solid. How it blows up. Subbed before 500 is always fun to watch grow.
I love Senki no Ronde 2, there should be more shoot em up/fighting game hybrids
henry chaser vincent is a great gundam name
Oh I know just the person who is gonna love this :D
Honestly, I'm really impressed with how elaborate the presentation is. As much as the game is a bit shallow I do think that there's a lot of passion behind the project with it's pastiche of gritty 1970s crime shows. It's the sort of thing that could have been a cult classic as a full price game with a bigger development budget. It's rare to see sniping done as a simulation of the experience instead of a point and shoot hitscan affair, like the Silent Scope series in the arcade. With a better optimised engine and the addition of needing to compensate for wind direction I could see it being a really engaging game, especially if you were to get more options about the contracts you take on and a bit of a murkier sense of whether your actions are justified, like in Armoured Core. You may well be taking apart a conspiracy, but the question of whether you're being misled about the nature of the people who you're taking out would be a very interesting conflict.
40:35 he called her fat pretty much
That mech game reminds me of Psychic Force 2012 (also on Dreamcast), though I imagine that it's a considerably more polished experience. You may still have a good time with Psychic Force 2012. It's not a great game in many respects, but it's still quite fun and the melodramatic anime storyline is fairly enjoyable (though incomprehensible due to the lack of clear context for the storyline. It's a sequel to another game I never played so there's a lot of stuff that seems to assume familiarity with the characters and setting. I also wasn't sure if there was a localisation issue because one of the characters was referred to as male but was androgynous and had a female voice actor with a deeper than average voice. If he was intended to be a trans character it would fit, but I don't know if that's the intention or if he's meant to be youthful. Most of the other characters are teenagers but they do have less ambiguity in that respect. Maybe the original japanese script intended the character to be a butch lesbian and the western localisation team tried to censor it, only to wind up with trans representation by complete accident because they didn't dub it. Will never be able to know, but it would be funny if that's what happened, like some kind of homophobic game of whackamole). It's decent enough for a casual experience in multiplayer. It's never going to be your favourite thing in the world, but it's still got a lot of charm and the ability to smash people through the glass cube that you're fighting in is a very satisfying way to finish the matches.
I'm guessing the ominous guy at the ending is Geese. As for that weird creature...Neo Dio? If that 's really the case, the sequel would have been completely bonkers!
What a strange little game.
Loved the vid. You have a really in-depth, objective but not completely dettached view of the game.
I like the part where Henry was chaser and chased!
That intro music is great. I love how this era of JRPGs and the like had all theses deep royal sounding strings...Its like reading a hustler magazine in the penthouse of the fanciest hotel you have ever had the pleasure of spending the night, mine being Motel 6 outside of Akron Ohio.
Yeah... it's a little sad when there is evidence of passion and dedication in an otherwise fairly mediocre game that's destined to be not even a footnote in gaming annals. The ballroom dancing name selection screen, for example. It's... I want to say the team should have limited their ambitions, but it *is* a fairly contained design. Just two playable characters, simple equipment system, straightforward narration... I suppose it comes down to the technical execution. I wonder if this would have ended up better as a 16-bit RPG. Well, an interesting title all the same, and a good review.
This is really like a Temu version of ThorHighHeels from the art style, editing, and presentation. 🙁
I prefer this & don’t even think the comparison is worthwhile

Best video yet! Keep it up!
amazing editing holy crud thats a lot fo work lol
this i better than any new film or tv show to watch this Friday night in November 2024
I'm surprised you didn't bring up Masanobu Endoh during the video at all. He had just as big a role in the game's development as the others you mentioned, and this was also the last major project he was involved with before retiring from game development.
i would've if i'd realized i'd missed something that big! i definitely wouldn't call this the most comprehensive or complete video about the game, mostly hoping making a video like this can spark more interest in it the way something like ancient roman got.
Dude, Henry's brother needs to be put on some kind of a list. Great video!
I miss my wife
😂 right there with you buddy
I really like in-depth analysis of obscure retro games, subbed
I suddenly realised, Undine reminds me of a character from Sengoku Turb.
12:09 Oh Oh my. That's rough.
Great video!
At first, I thought you added the Actraiser intro music to the video for this game's intro.
