I am genuinely over a lot of the aesthetic witchcraft as well. Like what happened to the very interesting Latin sounding names we used to use for witchcraft? Like witch or theurgist, or Thaumaturge, pyromancy. Instead now we have all these cute names that are more of a aesthetic rather than a word that describes what craft you partake in.

Cultural appropriation doesn’t exist. Are we going to start telling black women to stop wearing wigs with White style hair? No. Culture is shared. Literally every single immigrant here would be appropriating American culture by that logic. The problem is, there's no such actual thing as "witchcraft". What it is changes depending on individual culture, which can change depending on the individual. It's like "paganism". It's not a faith or a thing to follow, a pagan is anyone who isn't a Christian. Muslims are pagan. Sikhs and buddhists are pagan. Most modern day "witchcraft" are people blending ten different religions and practices into one contradictory thing and calling it a day lol.

After watching your content for many years, it just seems like you can't really decide who you are, what you truly connect with and what you actually want to do with yourself. You change your content every 6 months, say you're doing this/that, and then disappear. You reappear, claim to have had an epiphany, and then the cycle repeats. THAT'S COOL. You are on your own journey. I think you simply need to figure out why you feel like you need an audience for any of it, because you can't have a consistent audience when you stop and start and switch lanes every few months. I checked your new channel to see if that was the case again, and it was. You started a new channel, and stopped posting shortly after. Do you truly feel like it's necessary to make TH-cam videos or have an audience? If you don't feel driven to do it, I would say probably not. If you do, perhaps it's time to stop feeling the need to label yourself or label what you're doing and just be who you are in the moment but be consistent with that.

A lot of the witchcraft community relies heavily on cultural appropriation and yt supremacy, you can see this a lot with people who are wiccan and especially use the K in random terminology and their name.

omg yes, the mineral exploitation! I go back to my homecountry in the summers and companies have started mining in more mountain areas and it's the most disgusting eyesore I've ever seen. And all because people feel the need to use crystals and I know some people are into them, but it's really not worth destroying the land! I personally never went too far with 'witchy' business because it's not natural to me, but I got pushed into it by the algorithm because I like tarot. And the bit you said about preying on the vulnerable is very true! I'm personally diagnosed with autism and for some time I felt attracted to witchy communities because a lot of 'witchy traits' specifically target people with ASD, especially women. 'You feel like you never belong, like you're not from this world,' 'you love nature and don't understand people,' 'you prefer animals to human beings...you've never fitted in therefore you're a natural born witch.' Those characteristics are vague to begin with, but they also really resontate with people on the spectrum. People who resontate with that then enter a pipeline where they feel like they've found their 'tribe' but more often than not they are a) being used to sell stuff or b) being groomed by content creators. My therapist zoomed in on that with me and pulled me away when she saw that I was a bit toot taken with certain ideas and in hindsight, the targeting felt quite deliberate. It's a completely unregulated industry and there is no accountability for the exploitation of vulnerable people. I'm very excited for you! I started watching you from those witchtok videos because it was nice to see the community shat on and overtime I've really enjoyed seeing more of your life etc. I'm wishing you all the best with all your future endeavours!

I think there is a definite split in the witchcraft community. The people who use it for themselves and maybe some close friends and mostly keep it to themselves and then there are the ones who use it for profit and attention. I believe unfortunately that can happen with alot of practices whether religious or just spiritual.
