Thinking of yourself like a machine. Without meaning, without purpose, without a soul. Where is the love in that? Sounds like something a con artist would try to get you to believe. Thousands of years of civil progress and the best explanation we have come up with is comparing ourselves to machines we invented. Just a thought.

I am 20, very uncertain about my future, and I don’t really have friends let alone anyone my age to talk about these topics with.

I'm in Applied statistics and math, i'm struggling hard. I'm stupid, i'm dumb, i'm slow in learning. Even though i still barely pass, i'm not happy. In my classes, people are so intelligent, they learn things so quick and didn't even struggle. They spent time partying, got drunk, ... and still get high grades. I feel like a monkey trying to put all the puzzle pieces together while those "world-class prodigies and geniuses" doing some god-like problems. I'm studying very hard, putting in efforts and time. Maybe i'm just stupid in nature, i couldn't accept it. I need at least 70/100 not 50, 55, 57, 52/100. So frustrating. My parents said they are proud of me, my family has never had anyone who studied a stem major, some didn't even study in college. I don't wanna disappoint my parents, myself. Putting in 9/10, 9.5/10 time and efforts just to receive bad scores... Sorry for the rant.

11:20 I don’t really agree with this because I am that person. I’m retaking an intro to Java course right now, and I remember that when I first took the course, I was clueless. It all sounded like incantations to me, and I never practiced coding because I told myself coding wasn’t for me. But two years later, I’m retaking the course, and wow, I suddenly understand it (still the same lecturer). I now understand coding because I’m actually putting effort into learning, and that makes me more confident to speak up in class, not because I’m regurgitating old materials. I didn’t even remember it was the same lecturer, lol.

As a 36 year old back in college for a CS degree…this is spot on. In my first non-STEM degree, it was basically an extension of high school. We definitely have to put in the time to learn the concepts outside of class AND construct objects with the material to properly grasp it all. Thanks for the video!

Would an IE major still be attainable as a d1 athlete that’s required to participate in at least 20 hrs a week of sport related activities

TL;DR: Utilize the internet to learn, but don't let it distract you from your work. Make sure to try to solve problems on your own rather than skip right to the solution. (also if you dread your homework then you're just not built for it) There, saved you 20 minutes.

n watching your content you remind me of a few people I know who were heavily bullied in their developmental years and instead of actually processing it by going to therapy or reading on therapy and psychology you develop these coping mechanisms incongruent with reality and of have very cynical outlooks, schizoposting about how 'its all physics' isn't really helpful advice on bullying
