My dogs would roll in anything that was dead. Dead fish, dead animals , etc. I think it must be some kind of defense trait for self preservation that has stayed with them for thousands of years. Like if they smell dead a larger predator will not find them very appetizing.

I think it's poop from some carnivorous animal if it smells that bad. I play hide and seek with my dog too, it's so funny.

saw this video ages ago when I was all meloncholy about my visla back home, given that I couldn't smell the stuff the dog rolled in I don't have a clue all I know is that mine rolls in fox muck which is unique given it is mixed with their urine. It is digusting but natural for gun dogs to do, sadly.

Please mate, just dont let him hunt. Its important for him to learn that YOU are the one, who tells him when to hunt, when to stop, and when to just wait for the "go get´em". A Vizsla is a hunting dog, just to let the "cute lil boy" hunt on its own, doesnt satisfy him, This breed was breed to be controlled. Greetings from germany Ben
