Since you put the cabinet together would you be able to tell me how to remove the metal piece where the belt goes in before going around the wheel? I was told to remove it to facilitate the new machine going down into the cabinet but can't figure out how to??

Angela, sorry I missed this before now. To release the belt from the flywheel, rotate the release lever to the left and hold it there. Slowly rotate the top of the flywheel toward the front of the cabinet and the belt will work itself off the flywheel. Check this link for a image of the release lever. drive.google.com/file/d/15TMVg11AQwKy-eNW9acPXOVZLO8MAkmg/view?usp=drive_link

@@NickWright-nv1rk I think you misunderstood my question. I know how to do and undo the belt. What I need to know is how to remove the metal piece from the cabinet where the belt threads through.

Do you have a leather belt with a metal staple? You really don’t have to remove the belt from the machine unless you are replacing it.

Angela, sorry if I’m being dense, but after reading your replies, are you talking about the black metal spring assist arm that is just right of the machine? It has the two holes that the belt feeds through.

Help. I have restored a singer machine and cabinet like yours. I’m having a difficult time getting the hard rubber belt. And the rubber tire for the bobbin winder. Could I buy these items from you? If so where is your site ? Thank you

Thank you for the clear, easy to follow video. I'm curious about those treadle belts and connectors as I haven't seen them before. Could you tell me a bit more about them please (what they're called, who supplies them)? Thank you. :-)

We order our belts from sewpurtyworkshops.com. You can order an individual belt or order the belt material in bulk and cut to size. The metal connectors are included with the belt material.

I have a 66 just like this one. Does it need a rubber tire on the bobbbin winder?

Asking I’m in the process of assembly of 2 cabinets on to the irons. These did not come with the 4 per cabinet mt screws that holds the cab to irons. Do you know the sizes required? And also the hinge at front of the center drawer,3 screws go there are missing. Ty for the great tutorial!

The large screws are #12 x 3/4”. The originals are flat head. You can also use a pan head screw. I’m not sure of the configuration of your center drawer. Do you have a picture?
