มุมมอง 116หลายเดือนก่อน
Elite for the Agon/Console8 is continuing to progress nicely. You can now dock, either manually or with the docking computer, hyperspace, and fuel scoop. The scanner, compass, and the other console indicators are now working. The current binary can be downloaded from: github.com/xianpinder/Agon/tree/main/Elite It will run in the emulator or on real hardware. You should use the latest Console8 VDP.

Here's a short video showing progress on the Agon Edition of Elite for the Agon Light / Console8. The chart screens, commander status and planet information screens have been added as well as being able to launch and fly around a bit. A preview of the new crescent style planet is also in there.
Agon Elite Update With Ship Parade

A quick update video showing progress on Agon Elite. Shows the rolling Cobra Mk3 and the ship parade. I've manually flicked it between wireframe and solid graphics to show what both look like.
Agon Console8 Elite Demo
มุมมอง 828ปีที่แล้ว
First initial progress of porting Elite to the Agon Light and Agon Console8. The solid graphic version is running in 640x240 with double buffering. The wireframe version is running in 640x480 without double buffering. Running on an Agon Console8. Filmed on my phone in poor lighting so please excuse the low quality.
Archimedes Elite (ArcElite) for Windows
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
A few years ago I ported the Archimedes version of Elite over to Windows. The port was based on the original source code which was a 50/50 mix of C and ARM assembler. I re-coded the assembler in C and replaced any platform specific code to use the SDL2 library. The resolution was also increased. Unfortunately the port was not released but here is a video showing how it plays. Download available...
Unreleased Elite game for Super Nintendo (SNES)
มุมมอง 2.4K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Elite for the SNES was sadly never finished but here's a video of me playing the demo in an emulator. Some beautiful 3D on the SNES without using the SuperFX chip! It was developed by Hybrid, publishers of Archimedes Elite.
Early Acornsoft BBC Elite with Dual Scanner design
มุมมอง 6056 ปีที่แล้ว
Elite was originally designed using a dual scanner system rather than the elliptical scanner that it was published with. This video shows me trying to fight some pirates using the dual scanner.
Cool. I played this game a little on BeebEm. I wanted to ask you one thing about ArcElite: why are objects like planets drawn too far from the center of the screen? Can you add an optional feature to disable this in your port? I've already mentioned this in my bug report, but I think it's worth asking here.
It looks beautiful running in the Agon. Now you have the perfect engine to make a clone of the well-known game Crazy Kong. MAGNIFICENT WORK. A cordial greeting from Chile. Congratulations.
Looking great!
🎉very nice 🎉
The AgonLight never falls short of amazing me with its capabilities. Is this games also done in ez80asm?

🎉this is truly amazing 🎉
Wow, coming along nicely! Is the video speed up?
Thanks, glad you like it. The video is actual speed. It runs at 30 FPS. It maybe looks a little fast when flying towards the sun because you only see the space dust at the edges of the screen and those move quickly. There is also the jump drive to skip forward when flying.
@@xianpinder Wow, it shows what the agon is capable of. Great work and thank you for working on it. Since the C64 version, Elite is one of my favorite games.
Source code for this is out for the 40th anniversary or elite.
My main problem with this version is that the bounty payouts are pathetically small compared to the BBC and DOS versions, so even though mouse controlled combat is the standout feature, it is not actually worth engaging in. I wonder if it could be hacked to bring the payouts more in line with other versions of the game?
Elite legend
Starfield unrealistic animated star surface
U sen vdac2 version who knows maybe animated plasma for sun soon
Starfield not realistic stars would be fixed maybe dust particles could give impression of movement

You seen elite legend?
Looks fantastic! I much prefer wireframed graphics.
looking awesome, great work
Nice!
Very impressive. The 3d looks very smooth and clean. The HUD is really nice too.
Wow, forget the 3D, just look at the smooth rotation of the hi-res planet, that isn't mode 7 in this case, is it? Or are all the other objects drawn to sprites?
RIGHT ON COMMANDER!
Wow! Very smooth.
Playing classic Elite and a few Kerbal missions are becoming a Christmas tradition for me - a couple of years ago I played Elite TNK all the way to Elite and 1M credits (to make up for only getting to Deadly on the Beeb when I was a kid, wish I still had the save disk to see how close I got), this year I found this to play with. Many thanks for the port Christian it's by far the best version of Elite imo with other ships going about their business and fighting each other. One very minor bug I spotted - the hyperspace countdown doesn't display correctly on the menu screens.
Whow ! you ported the right one ! the Archimedes version is definitly the best one. Just Tried TNK also, great but it is not so smooth and fast as the Arc version. As a BBC and A410 owner, I spent alot of time on it. You really did a nice job. Just discoverd it and installed on my win10... wonderfull ! the adrenaline is back instantly ! Thanks ! ... Long time ago, I was "Dangerous" ...
Awesome! Is it possible to look at the source code? Is far away a C based Elite?
This looks beautiful! Anyone have any luck on a ROM for this? Is it only a Demo? I know a runner who had the opportunity to buy this way back, he said it was a gold cartridge that was on sale?? Lemme now if anyone knows anything, it's very intriguing!
"anyone that cant dock without scratching their paintwork shouldnt be in space"
Amazing. Please share some for information with us. When do you reckon will you release the game?
Hey Christian, this is great! So impressive. But i need to know more.... Is this your original z80 code, a conversion of some existing Elite z80 version, or a port of the 6502 code? Is it more than the spinning Cobra? Is there a full game in the works? Sorry for all the questions - really love it!
oh wow, gorgeous!!
thats awesome 😀 please don't forget to implement keyboard only control. i've got an agon light 2. there is no joystick connector 😞
WWWOWWWW!!!!! *Mind blown*
Fascinating, I heard they postponed the release back in '84 at the last moment to get the new scanner in. Looks like they made the right decision!
This is amazing! I'd love to port it to web assembly!
Very impressive. I've played for a few days and it plays very well. I can only compare it to the emulated ArcElite, though. I encountered two bugs so far: 1. When you start the game and load your commander, it always shows Lave. After you click on Local, it changes to your real system. 2. The same goes for the missile number, it always shows four missiles. After you click the Equip button, it changes back to five. Thank you a lot for your effort. I really appreciate it.
This looks incredible, awesome!, why isn't everybody talking about it?, cause it proves my point, that the Snes can run 3D games without any chip, you can even combine mode7 with 3D to create all sorts of games, amazing, and i think this demo can be vastly improved. See ya.
I've played ELITE on many platforms since 1984 - it is by far my favourite game of all time. And yet only now do I see this version - after 39 years!! I guess that's just another thing I have to thank you for, after TNK!!
Very good, thanks. I have to say that still, nothing at all beats the BBC b for the sound effects: lasers and hyperspace to name two.
Elite 2 most interested.
crumbs, the 3D scanner was a big improvement!
I _think_ I might have found a bug. I did the first mission, then hung around in Galaxy 1 for a bit and went right down south east to Sori. Then I Galactic Hyperspaced, docked and saved. When I reloaded the game, I was still at Sori in Galaxy 1. EDIT : Although then when I flew out of the station, I was at Onatbeza in Galaxy 2, which IIRC was where I was docked. So it seems like a UI problem showing the wrong planet, rather than a functional bug.
Nice work! That was some fun times...
This is fantastic - thank you so much!
what are the controls?
Did you also make a GAMEBOY ADVANCE version or was that someone else?
The GBA version was someone else who basically reconstructed the game by reverse-engineering the OG.
The based it off Christians Elite New Kind source i believe.
Hey Christian love your work - does Elite TNK have ships roaming about doing their own business like police patrol ships etc, dogfights etc? Thanks hope youre well!
