    Okay, at 01:24 White 12 enters "the restricted area before the ball has been released by the shooter." Is there a vertical plane for the free throw lane or is it judged a violation when the foot lands in the key?

    49:56 FIBA interpretation, 12-16, 12-17 and 12-18 beg to differ. 12-18 states "A1's shot for a goal is in the air when the shot clock signal sounds, followed by ball lodging between the ring and backboard. The alternating possession arrow favours team A." ..... "This is a jump ball situation. After the throw-in from behind its enplane, team A shall have 14 seconds on the shot clock." Otherwise, great video and discussion.

    well whatever than answer is that's not it. The ref has no power over anyone after the game at this point, especially since he's still in uniform he needs to de-escalade

    Not enough to go on. Was a warning issued previously? Why is he casually walking over to report the T? Looking for trouble? Where was the conference with the other officials to sort things out? He should have reported, turned, moved opposite table side. Let the other two manage the rest. Just brutal, embarrassing officiating. Sorry.

    Rule 3.2.1 is very clear as to what information must be supplied to the Official Scorer (not score keeper). If this information was not given to the Official Scorer by the 10:00 pre-game mark, then the penalty is one Administrative Technical Foul. If the Official Scorer made a mistake (not an error) then there is no penalty if the information was properly provided to the Official Scorer. The Rules do not require the information to be in the official scorebook; only given to the Official Scorer before 9:59 appears on the clock. The first thing we should do is convince the Coach that we sure want to ensure we don't charge a penalty if he/she complies. We hear the Coach say that the Official Scorer copied the required information from his scorebook. If the Official Scorer did not copy correctly, the Referee simply checks the other scorebook and if the Team Member's name is in it, have the Official Scorer simply add the information to the Official Scorebook with NO PENALTY.

    Double tech on the coach and ejected. One he is screaming at the official and two he’s at the scorers table. Then issue a tech for the book.

    First thing to do is get all the assistant coaches off the floor and to the bench by telling the head coach you are not going to listen to anyone but him and others remaining on the court will be assessed Technical fouls if the remain on the court. Wait for a few seconds to see if the coach controls his bench. If not warning him one last time and then call the Technical after a few more seconds. Focus the Head Coach on controlling his bench.

  • @thomashenion6784
    @thomashenion6784 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Calling the first Technical from across the court looks bad and then walking toward the coach and not toward the table is just baiting the coach to say more. Why didin't the Center call the Technical? Why does it look like other officials are avoiding the coach or the bench area?

    Any context around the situation? Looks like it might be the second quarter? Was a warning issued before? All the coaching staff is sitting. Is it the head coach who is ejected.

  • @andrewcarey7836
    @andrewcarey7836 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The official who called was probably the furthest away from the coach he called the TF on!! - It initially comes down to what level ALL officials will take from the benches (Pre-Game?) as the official nearest the benches did nothing, but the guy furthest away "had a problem" with what was done/said - so instantly - it doesn't look good from a "Refs Team" point of view. This situation was then COMPOUNDED by the calling official standing right in front of the coach when reporting to the table - talk about baiting the coach!!! - I would have gone to the centre circle at most to signal (as long as the table can see your signals, there is absolutely no reason to get that close to the table/bench area). So Surprise, Surprise!! - The coach gets a 2nd TF and get ejected!!! - Very poor officiating and game management by the calling official :-(

  • @michaelperras4142
    @michaelperras4142 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not a great way to handle it. You have to give the coach an opportunity to walk back from the line he crossed. And get away from the heat to let the coach cool a little. Also, never give the 2nd T unless you are the only one who heard it.

  • @Luuk.vd.b
    @Luuk.vd.b 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What about a 3 second violation by white number 10? Imo he is way too, long in the bucket. Idk what the coach did say, if he only argued, 1 T was enough for me, if he was using bad language I would prefer that the other ref would eject him

    2:42 in th-cam.com/video/r1Aq1VdECY0/w-d-xo.html Before he starts to dribble, he takes 2 steps using his first step as pivot foot. I am confused with the FIBA rule "Pivot" and " a player shall release the ball to start his dribble before his second step. " Please help me to clear up my doubt, thank you.

    L2M Summary - 9 Elements - Brief Descriptions 1) Officials/Crew Pre-Game - it is important to pre-game the L2M, separate from the previous "nn" minutes, as there are unique procedures, mechanics, signals and rules associated with the L2M which are significantly different than those in the previous "nn" minutes. 2) Table Crew Pre-Game and In-Game Preparedness and Awareness - as the Table Crew is a direct extension of the officiating crew, it is important to conduct a thorough pre-game with them AND again review with them prior to the last L2M. Each Table Crew member (Game Clock/Horn Operator, Shot Clock Operator and Scorer) has specific responsibilities that must be pre-gamed, reminded and executed properly in the L2M in order for us to have successful game outcomes. 3) Two Minute Signal (Visual) with Partner - is vitally important that the officiating crew knows when they are entering the L2M of a game (or in overtime). This is unlike any of the previous 3 quarters, when the crew only signals last shot. 4) Time-Outs - in a pure FIBA game it is the table crew's (game clock/horn operator's & scorer's) responsibility to know how many time-outs are remaining, informing the coaches if they are losing one of their time-outs and to grant time-outs when properly requested (e.g. after being scored upon, prior to the ball becoming dead or when it's dead). As a crew we not only must be cognizant of this information but we must also know whether a team is entitled to advance the ball to the front court and to properly execute the time-out procedure for a team who may advance the ball. Also, crews must be aware if they are not using pure FIBA rules for time-outs (aka school athletic associations), where the requesting of time-outs can occur during live ball situations. 5) Table Crew / Coaches - this is a direct extension of what is outlined above, specifically knowing when a time-out can be requested and is then properly granted. Again, in pure FIBA games all time-out requests must come through the table crew and must be granted at the appropriate time. This is vitally important in the last two minutes for the table crew, officials and coaches - as awareness of dead and live ball situations is paramount when granting a time-out. 6) Game and Shot Clock Operators - within the L2M the setting, starting and stopping of both the Game and Shot Clocks is absolutely critical to the successful outcomes of games, especially those which are higher profile (e.g. Rep/OBL Tournaments, OBA Championships, Boys/Girls HS Tournaments and Playoffs, OFSAA Championships, etc.), as games tend to be more competitive in the L2M. Also, the sounding of the horn for substitutes and time-outs by the Game Clock / Horn Operator in the L2M, at the appropriate/proper times, is very important. 7) Substitutes - unlike any other time during the game, both the table crew (Game Clock/Horn Operator) and officiating crew must be fully aware if there are any substitutes waiting to come into the game in the L2M, for a team which was just scored (field goal) upon. If so, then the horn must be sounded, and if not, then the officiating crew is to blow their whistles to beckon the substitutes into the game. If there are any substitutes at the table from the scoring team then they can substitute as well, only if the team that was scored upon substitutes. 8) Throw-In's - for ALL throw-in situations, regardless of whether the officiating crew handles the ball or not, the illegal boundary warning signal must be given. Note - if the officiating crew does not issue the illegal boundary warning signal they cannot call a technical foul if the defending team illegally crosses the boundary (as the warning signal was not given; all they can do is issue a warning). 9) Fouls - there are numerous foul situations which can occur in the L2M which do not occur in the preceding "nn" minutes. It is important for the officiating crew to pre-game these (most likely) scenarios so they are fully prepared, if/when they occur. Such examples are: a technical foul for illegally crossing the boundary on a throw-in and unsportsmanlike foul for specific throw-in situations. An unsportsmanlike foul for not making a legal attempt to play the ball (C1) needs to not only be called in the L2M but also at anytime during the game.
