Because more experienced players aim for the head to finish you off faster and have learned to track your movement very well. When you jump and strafe at the same time it makes it harder for said players to track your head and if you have more health (like the Commando) body shots are not that dangerous and you can finish them off easily. In this case I jumped, because I saw the droid that was storming my position had a T-21, the most deadly heavy weapon in the game that can headshot my commando in two hits (or possibly even 1 hit, I don't exactly remember how much damage the triple shot attachment of the T-21 produces).

In europe you find matches all the time. After 1 am you might only find 1 match tho. But prime time there are multiple filled servers

I play in the EU region, but the US also has players. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to wait for people, other times it begins very fast. But from what I've heard the other regions don't have players.

If you don't overdo it, it is fun. But playing too much can get frustrating from all the cheaters, connection issues and also really good players that live in this game and play their real life for a few hours a day.

Clone Commando blaster damage and accuracy drops significantly at medium to long ranges. Even an extremely trained player, that knows exactly how to regulate the accuracy with counter-mouse movements, will not be able to "snipe" you quickly. If it happened very quick, you most likely dealt with a cheating player.
