I could not be more excited that football season is back! But as we cheer on our favorite teams, there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes…and my next guest knows a thing or two about that.
I asked Darlene the following questions:
Do I even dare ask your favorite team?
You’ve been a coach's wife for most of your life. What is one thing you wish more people knew about what the players and coaches on the field go through?
What was it like to move homes and teams so much over the years?
How did your faith sustain you in those times?
What advice or habits can you share with our audience that you’ve picked up from surrounding yourself with world-class athletes?
Darlene Johnson is the President of NJCO, Inc. a sports and ministry company.
Darlene is the first female African-American board chair and the second female in FCA history to lead the board. She served my two year term as Chair in 2020 & 2021 and is still on the Trustee Board with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Her husband, Craig, retired in 2021, after 17 years of college coaching and 20 years in the NFL. They have two adult children, Shelby and Sydney.
