Here from the year 2024: Shimano Claris is actually (still) Shimano’s basic road groupset, but is still fantastic for casual riding, especially if well tuned. I put thousands of miles on a Claris 8-speed, and it worked great that whole time.

I have a 2023 Honda metropolitan scooter, the Honda booklet just change the oil every 4,000 miles, but the dealer says I should have it changed every 2,500, which one should I go by? Thanks for any help, or suggestions.

I had been meaning to relocate and change the lights on my Ruckus for a ew years now. When I bought it, it already had aftermarket (small black) blinkers, which weren’t bad. The original owner had made quite a rats nest out of the wires though, he had added a small thing to keep the blinker lights from going into hyper mode. Well anyways, the original wires were still their and unmolested. The little reflector on one side, wouldn’t come off though. The inside of it was stripped and spinning along with the bolt. So, hacksaw it was! That was the start of my project tonight. After that it was pretty 😊smooth sailing. Your video was helpful with identifying the oem wire connection, so thank you!

Sora and Claris are two different speed groups. That’s probably why your shifting is not working. Look it up.

I fashioned a tool for the oil screen... I put an extender on a 17mm socket and the used a vice grip on the end of the extender so I could grab it past the hose.

Good review, thanks. I come from road cycling, in the mountains in Italy - my bike is a 7.2 kg Olmo. However in the winter roads get messy and I do not feel safe with narrow tires. Also, I do not like to get my nice bike messy! A MTB would be too heavy, so I searched the internet and came across this. I did not know the brand. It looked good on paper and now I am waiting for the box to come. It will have only 8 speed, the new Sora has 9 speed (I think this is why it was on sale), but the shortest gear is a good 1:1 ratio so I can go anywhere! I think hydraulic brakes are overrated - just think of the messy bleeding one has to do regularly - or spend 50 bucks to have it done by a shop. Mechanical disk brakes are more than OK! As to the rear shifter issue mentioned here, I am surprised as Shimano components, independently from the level, always work very fine. I guess it is a matter of adjustment. Besides, with only 8 gears, the spacing between gears is not super tight, so shifting should be clean. Thanks again for the informative and well shot review

I just bought this same bike after test riding it vs a Jamis Renegade Explore. The Jamis was more responsive and shifted better (I don't love the way the Broam shifts, it's a little clunkier and noisier) but the Broam was way more comfortable to me (and looked cooler - and was cheaper). Thanks for the review.
