First I am so happy that you guys are a couple, The guy looks calm, and talks very intelligently. i love two of you. My guy Yorubas never over passed igbos in education though they first grabbed education because of nearer ness of sea. And igbos took over from them and we that first university in nigeria is in Ibadan . But could you believe that when British was about to go the three higher institutions in western Nigeria were handed over to 3 Igbo professors namely professor Dike, professor Eni Njoku and another Igbo professor. Yes after the civil war Igbos slacked back because of no money and all the missionary schools in the south east federal government sized then for that help stoped coming from missionary on education. But today due to our resilience and hard working we quickly rebuild our self, those traders and business men and women you see in mkt many of them were educated though there’re those that stopped after secondary schools like wise in Yoruba’s for those who did not go to school ended up doing mechanic works ,taxes drivers in almost the whole cities of Nigeria, tailoring works all over Nigeria including outside Nigeria, meat business. Today the record is their imo state have the highest number of bachelor degree holders in Nigeria and for the passed south east is topping the chart in neco and waec. Recently in medicine and surgery south east topped the charts 1800 candidates bellowed by south west 1600 candidates and the other zone fellows

One thing you all don't know is, after a bride price is paid the father takes out of the money any amount he can conveniently pay back just in case divorce arises in the future so when you marry from a poor family and pay like 10m for bride price, most wise fathers would most likely take 10k out of it return instantly the remaining 9.990m. However, this is the main reason why bride prices are ethically paid in cash

Such people are partly the source of the problems the Igbos have with the Yorubas. They misunderstand and misinterpret things. The notion that the Igbos sell their daughters in marriage is a fallacy. The Igbos do not sell their daughters. They give value to them. What you pick up freely is not treated with respect. A man will respect a woman and treat her well when he spends time and resources to marry her. That is why the Igbos have the lowest rate of divorces in marriages. Unlike the Yorubas who jump from one woman to another, and of course, the Yoruba women who jump from man to man. All of them behave like dogs in the street. You have You see Yoruba women having children from multiple men, and Yoruba men having children from multiple women - yet some of them are not living together. We know how the Yoruba men and women desire to marry the Igbos. This is welcome. However, they should work hard to earn it. Gold is not easy to get. If you must get it, you have to work hard. And when you get it, exercise discipline to keep it. This is where the value of the woman plays an important role. Igbo women are well trained. They know how to build homes and take care of their husbands, children and family. Fighting over family inheritance/properties is not peculiar to the Igbos, the Yorubas do the same.

About marriage, you are perhaps right that Yoruba women don’t take nonsense, so if their husbands cheat, he will get a revenge😂, perhaps because no one will threaten her with the return of bride price, and the Yoruba society allows women a space in the society which does not depend on your husband, but an Igbo woman without a husband is not really accepted in her society. So when a marriage is not working, generally Yoruba women are not afraid to walk away and make a life for themselves., the culture accepts ‘dalemosu’.. We always have a right and a place in our fathers house, so no man can maltreat us and we feel stuck to him!! If a Yoruba woman stays in a bad marriage, it her personal choice, not a cultural co strains.

About loudness…. Yes, Yoruba is a very loud language by its nature…..like Spanish and Italian, it has a lot of vowels….so as a spoken language it is loud. When I went to Italy, I realized that Yoruba na child play, Italian is very loud, it is the language…..but it is not aggressive, the la gauge is tonal and vocal, that is why it is great for music.

I do not call it fetish,because we should respect the ATR. But Yoruba people have a lot of it and actually practice it with a lot of pride and dignity.
