Fav film, and i knew the son of the man who taught them to fly the glider. I knew the younger Weeden well. This scene was filmed where i grew up in Pennsylvania.
I love this movie so very much! It puts a big smile on my face every time I see it. Thankfully I have it on DVD. This is one of those rare times when the remake is much better than the original. Thank you.
A: Get a grip, lady; B: "I can show you the world....shining shimmering splendid..." C: You've got Pierce Brosnan with you, do you really need more thrills?
Nice scene and score by Conti, but will NEVER compare to the original movie scene, with Steve McQueen and music by Michel Legrand ("The Windmills of your Mind"), see in TH-cam
The book "Erwin and Painted Post" written by Kirk W. House says it was recorded at Costa's Airport, now Corning Painted-Post airport, once owned by the famous portuguese-american aviation pioneer Joseph Costa: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Costa_(aviator)
I'm a glider pilot myself, and I couldn't help but shaking my head all the time... Instruction "over the shoulder?" I did fly with this very same Duo Discus, and it flies like a charm!
@cat12275 This scene was filmed at Harris Hill Soaring Corporation in Big Flats NY. Upstate. My father and I were very active soaring club members there for years. My father was a soaring club member and was at the field the day they were filming. They had a helicopter with a camera rig. The glider is a duo-Discus, being operated by the owner and his wife. The plane towing the glider is HHSC Piper PA-25 Pawnee.

HACE UNOS DÍAS ME ENTERÉ QUE ES UNA REMAKE DE LA PELI ORIGINAL DONDE ESTABAN STEVE MACKEEN Y FAY..DONEWAAY DE 1968...
Super film mais je préfère le 1
So cool and very nice flying...
Where’s his instrument panel? He has an instrument panel in front of him. I guess not in the movies. Lol!
Filmed at Costa Airport, named after Madeira born flight pioneer
What a weak remake...
GOD! Her scream was contagious. Puts a smile on my face every time i see this lovely glide.. ✈ Crown & the lady where EPIC! 🍷❤️
I prefer thomas crown affair 1968. Steve McQueen the best
This version is no comparison to the 1968 version.

She screams like an old Hag.
Jajaja, and the canopy opens to the opposite side...
What's the name of the phone he is using?
You can see the crew and screen in the reflection of her glasses

You may be a glider pilot and have flown that very same Duo Discus, but you sir, are no Thomas Crown.
@@princevalencia8816 Neither is Pierce Brosnan
Shaking my head! But maybe I'll try that ''leaning over the shoulder'' technique next time I'm flying a trial lesson.
Now that ladies and gentilmen, is what flying is all about !
@robert100xx But he's Mr. Crown; He likes a challenge!
