      @jaywin5 I'm sorry bro, I just reread it.... not how I meant it to sound. I'm a dick. ...it was 100% the coloring that drew me to your videos, and I am trying improve my color pencil work. I've done mainly pen&ink photorealism, but I struggle with seeing the crazy details that make pics pop..Before I cover an area. was hoping to see your thought process, sorry about the d-bag comment

    Oh this was worth the wait, just love it. I am so glad I found your channel. Hope more people will see, subscribe, and "like" your videos. I would be interested in seeing a video where you just show some of your completed pictures and talk a little bit about how you did them. Also would be a way of showing off the illustrators that you like to color. Look forward to more tutorials!

    Thank you for this tutorial. I’ve been coloring for about 5 weeks now and I have a budget pencil set that eats the tooth of the paper quickly. I have printed up grayscale images on various paper types (Bristol Vellum won’t go through my printer though) and there’s still no way for me to lay down layer upon layer of color. This method is going to help me tremendously!

    hello, does this mean you can use gray colored pencils or graphite and then color over them or is this just an exercice to learn coloring and there is no application further?

    • @jaywin5
      @jaywin5 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      you can use this for coloring grayscale coloring books and pages. this is less advanced than starting out on blank paper. many of the skills are usable in drawing. graphite is harder to cover but if you are drawing your own pictures and shading them then this would be a next step to coloring.

    Thank you so much for this video. I learned so much. It came just in time. I have been coloring in for a couple of years now, but I had just started using a grayscale coloring book to do faces. I had already done two but wasn't really happy with the colors. After watching your wonderful video, I completed just faces and skin of six pictures and then was able to go back to the first two I had done and went over them, and they look good now. So grateful to you. Will be watching all your other videos now. Thanks again.

      Hey my favorite is any book that fits my mood at the time. I don’t cling to any one creator or artist. I see something and a go for it. Chuck Moberg and Jeff Eisen are probably the two I look to first.

    Honestly worrying about exact colors has been making me stress more than I realized. 😅 When you said it didn't matter and you just needed a brown it was kind of a relief lol. I stopped coloring and painting a while back and I'm having a really hard time right with life atm so I have been trying to get back into it to see if it helps but keep getting hung up on stuff like that. Other videos I've watched seemed to make such a point about using exactly a certain shade of a certain brand and I think maybe I've been overthinking it a bit. 😅 That being said I do think its helpful to know which pencils people are using, especially for something like skin tones, but its also just helpful to hear someone give a reminder that you can stray from those and still get the results you want.

      I hope everything in your life improves and you get to enjoy some time for yourself and build your skills. Take time out to make mistakes and laugh at them. Also give yourself permission to be awesome!!! Throw out them swatch cards and just color. Green is green. Blue is blue. Never chain yourself to others peoples limitations. Color is color.

    Thank you this really helps! It might be good to emphasize in the title that this is an easier method for beginners to get the attention of people like me! :) I'm not a complete beginner but am just starting grayscale and usually didn't do much coloring of skin so I've watched a bunch of videos that turned out to be a bit more advanced and this video helped so much more! I keep putting off starting because i don't feel confident doing skin tones and this definitely made it less intimidating. Appreciate that the colors were common, i only have the 72 set as far as the prismacolors and every tutorial I've gone to uses ones that aren't in that set so I've been looking through my other pencils trying to match them. I was planning on getting some of the black widow ones just for skin to try them out but for this one i think i have something similar to the candy so i can practice. :) Sorry for unsolicited advice, but would realy like to see this channel grow if you will be doing more tutorials like this! Maybe a video for coloring hair and eyes might do well? :D The hair ones I've found all use colors from the sets above the 72 one. Love the page you chose :)

      Thank you so much for the advice. I will do a hair and eye video just for you!!!! Your input is very appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I’m so happy this helped you. You don’t need the candy to make it work. I use it to simply explore the page.
