Do you have 50 minute periods or block periods? I'm just curious because we have 47 minute periods on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays, we have odd block days, and on Thursdays, we have even block days. I enjoyed your video! It's inspirational!

I don't know of any of these poems, I was like all over most of the others teachers poems and just knew them straight off. But yours were new to me at least! You guys are in Poetry Outloud! I use your videos to teach my students in Australia, to try and get them the idea that its something to be performed rather than read aloud! Thanks for sharing: Shake the Dust, that is definetly a poem I will use next time I get the chance to teach poetry again (or when I find an excuse to). He even references English teachers teaching poetry LOL!

I like how you use these poems. In France, we have a very analytic approach of poetry. Technical language, metaphors, repetitions... Poetry was a mystery to me until a French teacher taught us a more sensible reading of these things. It was a big shock and discovery for me. Then I loved reading Madame Bovary. :)
