I’m looking in to Job Corp for my son. He’s turning 16 soon and is over high school and is about to give up. How do you feel about a 16 year old going? Do they keep drug use under control and are they strict with waking up/going to bed? Are kids respectful for the most part or will he be grouped with “trouble makers” ? I have no clue what to expect but I think it might be good for him
From my understanding it consist of a lot of folks with more troubled backgrounds but degeneracy is not tolerated by staff and student leaders. Probably more similar to a private school than it is a college or a regular vocational program. Like he said "keep your circle small, not everyone is your friend" if your son struggles with issues he can control ex: drugs and alcohol. He needs to make the choice to better himself because that's why everyone is there. I'd urge him to finish school if he can and get a job that he can work in highschool to pay for a trade school after he's done. That may not be an option for you in which case I'd go ahead with it but if he squanders the opportunity there's not much of a backup plan besides just a GED and getting to work and going from there. Sorry I wrote so much, I just empathize with you being a 19 year old man and have messed up the opportunities presented to me. Best of luck to you and your son.
@@Rug_dawg trust me I appreciate any feedback, especially people closer to his age so they have a better perspective. We actually toured it today. It seems like what he needs but just a different atmosphere. The staff didn’t seem passionate or happy, everything just felt blah. Just didn’t feel confident about it
For I 16 year I think it’s good for structure and discipline. They do keep drug use under control, people are removed from the program because of drug use. He’s bound to be around some trouble makers that’s just what’s in this environment. Very respectful students well be there too

Also they keep you from working in the city where the JobCorps is located Even after your certified to do so....to keep you from being able to file an income tax return. It's 2 years, your parents or legal guardians cannot file an earned income tax return. Killing 2 birds with one stone.
He never states he was given a practice GED test ...bc in the history of JobCorps No one has Ever received an actual Practice GED test. Yeah 20 years "working" at JobCorps violated Federal Laws against each and every "students"...by forcing them to sign off on checks they were issued by the department of labor, they told them they had to sign off on those checks in those buildings and COULD NOT TAKE THIER LEGAL FEDERAL PAYROLL CHECKS TO ANY BANK. which is a federal offense.
Yeah it's 97percent black bc they target black Americans. And I'll tell you why.... ignorance. Number 2 reason: Ignorance of Federal Law. Ignorance of civil rights. Human rights. Constitutional rights. They want people to feel they're in prison. They keep them in those buildings on purpose.
I guarantee he was never able to open an actual bank account at an actual bank. Guarantee it!
