Added WS2812b (Neopixel) addressable LED’s to my Harley. Controlled with an sp107e LED controller that has hundreds of preloaded patterns and also syncs to the beat of the music in lots of cool patterns. Automatically switches to being controlled with an Arduino Uno running FastLED Flame code when flamethrowers are activated. Everything waterproofed with silicone.
Tennis Tutor RF Remote Control Hack + Other Mods

Solidremote 12V - 24V Secure... www.amazon.com/dp/B01JGDV8UM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Added an RF Remote to my old Tennis Tutor ball Machine for less than $50. Sports Tutor wants something like $400 for this add on and I think it’s IR and not RF so susceptible to distance and sunlight and it doesn’t control anything but on/off and maybe oscillation. If you’re good with basic relay functionality...

Pickleball Tennis Tutor Ball Launch Warning LED Hack
มุมมอง 5425 ปีที่แล้ว
I’ve always found it difficult to practice good form on a ball machine because I couldn’t split step before the ball comes as I would when I typical hitting partner starts his swing. I solved that problem with a snap action micro switch ($3) and some red and green LED strip lights intended for marine navigation ($10). I had to cut a small hole in the plastic and used the natural ridge in the op...

Im wanting the same information. Also wandering if there are any companies that can make the proper size wheels? Please advise. Really appreciate your video.
whats the power draw on this machine? would i be able to run it off 40v batteries?
and how id the ride?' its worth the $$$$ you pay for that?
What is the little box it's in-between
Nice work, I did the same with an other tennis ball machine, works good except sometimes the ball get stuck between the ball selector and the side, if it is fully loaded with balls, separate feeding the balls works fine, what can be the problem, and the spring on top what is the purpose of the spring, thanks in advance
Great video and project. Wondering if you may know the part number for the speed control potentiometer on Tennis tutor plus. My speed control knob snapped off And I’m trying to avoid replacing the entire control board.
Adult size silicone wristbands Rubber + super glue, which shall be available at the dollar store. This is gonna save me $150 for replacing the throwing wheels of the spinshot. Thanks Jacob!!!
Any instructions on how to approach this?
Neat!😮
what about some flexseal?
You've opened a whole can of worms of How To with your amazing upgrades. Well done Sir 👏👏👏
How you connect elevation ?
Thanks! Very interested in how you installed the remote. Worth upgrading to lithium battery and charger.
Have you considered getting the 'actual spare Pickleball spin wheels' from those selling the spinshot 'pickleball machine? Those that has 'rubber coated flywheels '?
Cool project. Did you ever make the follow up video with your design? Couldn't find it on your channel. If not, any resources you'd rec?
can you share the 3d-file that I can change the size of the hole in the middle?
great videos. Any chance you can tell exactly what bands you bought?
This a great video! I tried a different approach, instead of modifying my machine I bought whiffle balls of similar size to tennis balls and it worked. While the feel on the paddle isn’t the same, there’s less noise and does the trick for training purposes. Good luck with whatever you do, keep on pickling!
Hi which wiffle balls did you buy?
I have a lobster elite pro tennis ball machine. Can it be used for pickleball without modifications
Instead of making new wheels, I am thinking of just slotting the existing motor mounts to move the existing wheels just a tad further apart. Thanks for making this video!, it answered all of my questions :)
Nicely done
I would love to do this. Looks like it will be a lot more of a project than what I imagined.
That is a beautiful cacophony
Can you provide the software for printing the ball wheels? If not, what are the dimensions of the ball wheels? Do you an update for the contact surface of the wheels.?
I'd love to replicate this project, Jacob! Even if only to start and stop the ball feeder. I have an old Tennis Tutor Plus (same as you show in this video) but lost the 2-button remote, and Sports Tutor cannot sell me a replacement and the original manufacturer is no longer in business.
I have Bat series Tennis Tudor and the wires got lose after I replaced the batteries. Does anyone know about the black and red wires to the white and blue wiring to get the wheels to spin?
Hi jacob, I'm trying to convert a lobster tennis launcher, similar to the tutor. I can't find the files or have any idea how to go about getting the wheels printed on a 3d printer. Can you give me some ideas?
Hello, I am using your video as a guide to converting my Silent Partner Tennis ball machine my original wheels are larger than yours. I was wondering if you could give a guess on the spacing OD to OD on your new wheel once installed. The Ball is about 73MM. I know we want to compress the ball some I am not sure how much. Thank you Mike Clark from Ohio
He is giving great info but never answers any questions and has not provided PDF will info on wheels. So frustrating!!
I have a tennis tutor but I don't have any mechanical skills. I live in Los Angeles. Anybody know anybody out here I could pay to do the conversion?
Would love to see a video on how you switched polarity for elevation. Please share the relay product link too!
I found this video after i stuck a pickleball into the same machine and it got stuck.
I'm looking to do the reverse... I own the pickleball tutor, and would like to modify it to where I can shoot tennis balls, and be able to revert it back to stock form as it is on the fly, whether we want to go out for tennis or pickleball for the day. I think it should be an easier route given that all the dimensions are a little bigger on the pickle tutor, and the gap between the two spinning wheels to shoot the balls out is just a pinch too large for the tennis ball and I'd just need to fill up a small gap. I am thinking I just need some slightly bigger wheels. If you can 3d print me the tennis tutor wheels I will gladly pay you! Or I can put some silicone wrist bands on the currents wheels... but not sure if that's easily reversible to go back for pickleballs as you seem to put some glue on there to keep them steady. If anyone has helpful ideas on how to achieve this I'd be forever grateful!
Let's trade machines. I have the tennis tutor machine and I want a pickleball machine. You and I could be a match made in heaven!
I have a tennis tudor. Want to swap?
Should've used a bigger bible
Ima be honest I don’t think that’s what bibles are for
Pickleball is a great sport doesn't require skills or running speed not even require being in good shape. 🏓
unless you want to be good, then it requires all those things.
Get so tired of hearing this. To call it something doesn’t require skill is a prime example of the ignorance that probably keeps you from being actually good at tennis vs talking a good game. Bring your tennis skills to my pickleball court and I will make you look foolish while you are dripping in sweat!
Wow! Jacob any idea or video how to fix my oscillation, not turning
My wires got lose and the wheel s are not moving , however my oscillation is working. So now I am trying to get the wheels working with the wiring.
My favorite part was the end. Why didn’t i think to just hit into my garage??? Duh!
I LOVE THIS!!! i was thinking a light would be genius. My pb tutor plus is glitching. The faceplate is missing a hex screw. It stops after 3 balls.
Is it easy to install a two button remote that solely turns on/off: 1. The power and 2. The oscillator?
What type of 3D printer are you using?
Where did you get the red wheel from? Or post the 3D STL FILE.
Hello this is a great job. Where are the link to wheel size that need to be 3D printed?
It would be very helpful if you can show how to wire the tennis tutor to the controller. The relay works as on/off switch so I have no clue how you wire it to adjust ball speed, feed and elevation which are variable resistors, I think.
I placed a relay in series on one leg of wires to the carousel. I then powered the 12 V relay switch itself directly from the battery. I am assuming power loss through the switch will not be a problem but it could be so I may need to wire to the original power switch at the end of the season. My LED seemed to work at very low voltages so I just wired it parallel to the carousel "after" the relay. I am not smart enough to remotely control speed, elevation, and spin. If you alter one you have to adjust the other two, and that is easier done at the box at the time of refilling the ball hopper.
I converted my Tennis Tutor Jr. to pickleball just by removing material. Cut out plastic to allow the ball to drop and on the mounting plate for the throwing wheels I made a slot to move the wheels apart as far as I could. To make the wheels smaller I removed a few mm of the rubber material on the wheels. Works great and was free but labor intensive.
About how much did you have to remove? What's the wheel size now?
@@huntly533 It was trial and error. I took off enough rubber so the grooves are almost gone, a few mm I guess. You can also buy the pickleball wheels from Tennis tutor. They had doubts the ball would drop but I made it work. I need to remove some aluminum from the tilting plate so I can hit lobs.
I talked to the Tennis Tudor people. They will sell you the pickleball wheels for $60.00 for the pair. But they said the motors are positioned in a different place. What do you think about Jacob and the 3D wheels?
@@huntly533 Repositioning the wheels just means moving them farther apart. You can do that by drilling a hole or making a slot like I did. the wheels need to compress the ball to launch it.
@@davidige276 can you email me what you did possible pictures ? I’m trying to convert my tennis tutor prolite to shoot pickle balls
Hi Jacob. Can you post a link to the silicone bands you are using?
Hi Jacob, can you post a link to the silicone bands you are using? Thank you.
Have you tried using an intertube around the wheels instead of rubber bands?
I added a simple on/off remote for power to the carousel type ball feed and an associated on/off led indicator light for $25 plus tax. The only problem is that it was in parallel with the power to the carousel, and the voltage to the carousel is what determines its turning speed and thus ball frequency. When this voltage drops below 10V, the particular remote I am using ceased to work. I was thus restricted at times to shorter shot intervals than I would like. Changing the relay allowed me to wire power the relay at 12V separately while opening and closing the circuit for the carousel regardless of the voltage being supplied to the carousel.
Jacob, i would love to see you do a HOW TO video. When do you think you can do one, many of us want to know.
