That lets go dancing chop was all over the shop mate hard to listen too in my opinion do you even like these tunes your playing very generic stuff i think you need to be more like yourself rather than james hype , i played with james before in dublin, i just feel like if your chopping and changing songs so fast and mashing them up and playing 30 seconds of it you dont like it, for instance if i played a dance classic like naline and kane beachball the last thing i wanna do is mix it out as fast as i can or throw any other sound over it hope that makes sense, keep up the good work! But play the tunes you love and enjoy them

Honestly as a dj, this is a rule you think you know but realise you didnt actually take note of it. This can literally happen to any dj, as it was last minute as well. But well we learn through your experience. I'm suprised they even put you in the line up seeing as you deejay like james hype...oh well... It is what it is...we live and learn. Next time just don't over hype the crowd...I'm learning too.

We all have done that but at least you got some attention from it.

I'm not a fan of James Hype, but this has always been the case for warm-up dj's. They didn't even used to get away with playing any of the peak hour tunes of the time, let alone the same as any the headliner was likely to use whether they were their productions or not. Warm-ups generally wouldn't play at faster BPM's, push the soundsystem to the same levels, or deliberately bring up the crowds' energy levels too high or copy the headliners' dj'ing style either . It's a completely different skill than headlining. If you wanted a unique big tune to play, you'd have to dig for one that wasn't known yet and try and break it yourself. Sounds like you learned from the experience anyway, all the best in 2025.
