Predator 212cc w/stage 2 hop up kit from nr racing and 7in prop test ride on the river, top speed reached was 18mph with me and my dog in boat. Motor is running on a beaverdam mud runner long tail kit.
Did u remove the engine governor cause it seems to be bogging at higher speeds or ur tune is off and needs more fuel on the top end. I know the video is old lol.

Nice! What kind of speed are you getting? I am waiting on a wildcat 223 engine so I can get the predator 212 back on my wife's wood chipper! Going to try the 7" weedless prop when it all comes in. Was getting 10 mph loaded down with 5.5" props totally loaded down on a 1032.
Am I the only person who converted my 12 foot jon boat into a Rock River boat anyone else put rubber Hume on the bottom of their boat to protect it from slamming into rocks when you jump things I need to make a TH-cam video LOL

Your boat scoots with that 6.5 I'm looking to buy a kit soon m. 7 horse long tail on my 11.5' I run alot of shallow creeks and streams. Can't wait for the fun

The diy kits are cheap and cool. But they are loud! You scare everything away and piss off all the other hunters.

How much better does it run with the stage 2?
gains go up to around 14 horsepower with a stage 1,2 and taking the governed out i believe
Nice Video, I just took my 12' Jon out for its first voyage with the Mudskipper and it did great. My transom seems fine but do you add extra bracing?? or just rebuild a rotted transom??? thanks Mack
I replaced the wood with a larger piece and had a friend weld some extra aluminum to key points of the transom to handle the extra weight and force of the motor. The boat was so old the metal used was pretty thin. Wouldn't need to do all that with a newer jon boat.

How much does the motor weigh?
I think the motor weighed around 35 and the ponytail kit weighed about the same.
That's longtailin in shallow its what it's for!

I just got a 1974 Sears 12' that my grandpa bought new. I want to build a long tail 6.5 with a predator engine but can't decide what kit to get. What did you use?
Get a mud skipper long tail kit

It's a sears 12 ft Jon boat that's a 1970's model. All rivets have been redone and transom rebuilt to handle the extra weight
