Ash & Mike - Episode 3 - Old neighbourhood, W Sydney & Timber Warehouse
Hi!
I'm so excited to share my vlog with you! Step into my world as I cook for the people I love, transform our veggie garden and pursue the life of a food blogger/content creator!
The "Ash & Mike" series allows you to be the third wheel in our day to day activities. This week we went back to our old neighbourhood to have brunch at one of our favourite cafes, unfortunately the place is now under new management so we didn't get to see the previous owners and say hello! And we also visited Go Natural Timbers to get 2 more beautiful camphor slabs for our home. I remember the first time I set foot into their warehouse- I was completely blown away by the choices and options of timber.
I also had a wonderful catch up with an old friend whom I haven't seen in 15 years! What a treat I had at W Sydney. The view from her room was breathtaking, and dinner by the pool while we watched the sunset was the cherry on top of a splendid night!
When you're with your person, you find the greatest joy in doing the simplest of things. What's one simple thing you find absolute joy doing?

Ok just so you know, last nights dinner was a hit! you know youve won when all 5 kids eat it, even my non-verbal son who is extremely picky....I almost cried when he licked the plate!!

is that a boiled egg marinated in the sauce on the side?? Looks so yummy, Its going on my summer menu
@@AussieCrimeCases that's a boiled egg that's marinated in just soy sauce. Boil fit 6.5min, soak in ice bath, then peel and marinate. My favourite little extra indulgence 🤭

@@whogivesafood it the missing recipe from my week i think. We will have it this sunday...gotta do that 2 hr drive to go shopping....but the Asian grocery is always the first and best stop hahaha

i live rural nsw so its 2hrs away from maccas, and now i make all the items at home, and im so glad i live far away because its 10000x better
@AussieCrimeCases yes!! Convenience is usually the trap people find themselves caught in but I believe it's a habit that can be nurtured if one chooses to put in the effort and a little bit of time to make their own. Always 10000x better when it's home made!
Maybe 5x better. Come on, Maccas is pretty good...

Oh lemme clarify haha. I had meant to make a coleslaw, but make the coleslaw more Asian so I added sesame, soy sauce and rice wine Vinegar. But I didn't mention I had coleslaw in mind already (i probably should have said it in the voiceover), so if what you meant was it sounded as tho I was gonna make some bok choy or something, and then BOOM coleslaw comes out.. I can understand the irony 😂

Basically just by putting the food in the middle of the camera instead of being uncentered, food looks amazing btw
This is amazing and really good, but I feel that if the food was centred and there was a different audio, it would be even better❤
