I am currently actively playing both GW2 and FF14, recently finished Dawntrail, catching up on SotO currently. I think these two games are perfect companion pieces in many ways. They share a similar design philosophy around lowering barriers to entry for new players and similar vibes in terms of inclusive, friendly community. In other ways they have exactly diametric strengths and weaknesses. FF14 has the best story in any MMO bar none, maybe one of the best stories in fiction period. GW2's story is serviceable and has reasonable character writing, but nothing that you will take with you for the rest of your life. On the flipside there is much more voice acting than in FF14. So many random NPCs just chatter and it makes the world so immersive and alive. Where GW2 really shines is the emergent open world collaborative gameplay and the movement-based exploration. This is perhaps FF14s greatest weakness: the open world, while stunningly beautfiul, often feels like setdressing that primarily services the narrative. The optional open world content like FATES and hunt bosses does not hold a candle to GW2. But then again, FF14 outshines GW2 in terms of instanced content, the raid and trial bosses are just so damn good. And the soundtrack is top notch, banger after banger, whereas GW2's soundtrack has some good theming, but only a handful of standout tracks in my opinion. GW2's combat is fast and oftentimes chaotic, FF14s combat is a bit slower, more structured and gives much clearer feedback. FF14 has the best minigames in the Gold Saucer, but the jumping mechanics are so unresponsive compared to the more floaty, forgiving movement in GW2. I could go back and forth forever. You get the idea. That's how I ended up loving them both equally. Whatever I feel like doing on any given evening, one of the two games has me covered. :)

I love Oblivion(the 2nd phase Shiva song) If you run that boss enough times, you can get the Boreas mount which plays the song while riding around!

to bad the combat sucks due to the playstation / pc compatibility. There will always forever be a 1 second server lag on enemy attacks. You dodge a boss attack fractions of a second before it could make contact with you only to still get hit by the attack OUTSIDE the circle. >_>

for the most part people try not to spoil things, though there will always be some people that get excited and let something slip, having good moderators to snipe potential spoilers helps but you may still be able to tell that you're about to get to a spot that the community considers a big moment just by the overall vibe of the audience, for example, if you were streaming during the base Heavensward story and the number of viewers spiked as you were getting to The Vault, that would have been an indicator that something was about to happen. there are many many moments in FFXIV where more people become intersted in seeing your reaction, it's why we're called "Emotional Vampires" :)

Honestly I'm rank 98, multiple characters to 30 and this game doesn't hold a candle to hollow fragment or realization. It's the worst same stage grind fest I've ever played

When I learn that I can turn off enhance armament manually, I was able to better cycle my skills when EA is up Basically his third skill builds gauge FAST

People who still claim FB isnt the best SAO game is blind as fuck. This game can take the crown with a bit more work and longativity.

There is tower mode. But its terrible (doesn't give you much rewards. Except one shirt at lv 5. Every other floor gives money. All rewards are one time only.) Only 10 levels of tower.

I usually enjoy Globku's content and he makes a lot of reasonable takes in general. But he fumbled hard with this one.

You can get freeze chance on accessories that’s as strong as eugeo’s ability and it only takes one accessory slot, so it isn’t terrible especially with how hard you’re encouraged to do quest raids from 50-80 but I think there’s better things for most characters especially eiji. And hey don’t be afraid to just say a character isn’t good lol. If someone gets mad oh well. I’ve seen a few decent eugeo’s but overall I don’t think he’s someone most will be rocking and doing amazing with in late game content.

I think level 90 is a bit of an ask for most of the casual players, I don't know if I will make it unless I start playing non stop

Eugeo is my main, his best passives are Eugeo and death gun. His legendary sword skill for the crit barrier is very good for a support in raid, ice lance and rage spike do great damage even if u don't get the freeze. My only issue I have with Eugeo is his sprint speed is embarrassingly slow and needs buffing alot (not flash speed but enough to keep up with characters) and also buff the damage on his heavy charged atk (the ice shard he shoots). Eugeo's passive is an 8% fixed chance to freeze an opponent so pairing it with eiji is unfortunately pointless because the passive fixed % you can't boost it with boosted status chance effect.

I planned on getting it but I'm going to wait for it to be on sale for more than 10-30%, I'll try to get the bundle. I don't have a job or allowance to just get this game.(I have all of the SAO games that are on the switch)

the problem is, NOBODY seems to play world tier 1 quests. i was waiting freaking 1h and it not happend that it found 5 players to fill the lobby with bots and start. it's really so sad to see that nobody seems to play the game on world tier 1

I'm still enjoying tf out of the game and I match super fast into lobbies, community still seems to be growing strong and game has a passionate playerbase on social media etc even if it's not huge.

The story for me personally is a 10/10 i loved every aspect of it the plot was great the new characters were great globku is just talking out of his ass first he says its gonna be amazing when beta was out and then goes on to trash talk it bc it has a story and out hes just straight trash talking the game for no reason

It's insane Globku thinks an SAO game shouldn't even had a story mode, when this this is the first SAO game to be based off the anime events instead of the original gameverse story the others are based off of. It's a game that shouldn't exist, so it's a new beginning for SAO games. Even as a casual watcher of the anime myself, I'm so hype seeing certain characters interact in that story. Yeah, Relink was a more polished game, but that lack of crossplay and support killed something that should of been great, and I totally believe SAOFD can fill that void.

I played the whole story in 3 days and it was an amazing experience. It's frustrating, because we haven't get a really good SAO game in a long time, and when a good one comes it, he made a video kinda crapping on it. He could've make a reasonable take and maybe help people's perspective on it. Yet it will do the exact opposite. I really agree where he should finish the tame first to unlock all the contents. He can say whatever about the story or the level design in it. But if he says there is not enough content, and he hasn't finished it yet. I don't think its fair edit : appreciate you making this and the video before. Because i sure can't make something like this lmao

globku was the same guy that said "they are just making up words now" on the bleach game trailers so any anime game review he makes are to be taken with a huge grain of salt unless its a dragon ball game. when he compared sao fd to relink he doesnt understand that relink is DEAD no one plays it anymore, his review of sao fd was just him complaining about the game "oh the combat is janky and theres nothing to do and i dont like characters being locked around story mode" sparking zero DID THE SAME THING yet hes not complaining about that about the characters being locked? yeah ok XD

No hate to Globku, but he had an bad take on the game so I don't see the problem with criticising what he said. At the end of the day if he didn't like the game that's on him, doesn't stop us from enjoying it

This game made fun, its not my main content of course but the game is enjoyable for what it is. I LOVED Fatal bullet and after hearing same developers were making SAO FD I was instantly hooked to the idea of giving the game an entire chance. I love it, its a whole personal favorite game to chill on when I'm free etc

man I am not even close to your playtime but I am in love with this game it is literally such a beautiful tribute to every single game that ever existed if you've seen the samurai kirito outfit thing it even mentions "Code Register" which is a game that was never translated for the west and they made a whole outfit with a special ultimate animation for it as an SAO nerd I am absolutely in love with this game, obviously not just because of this, but in general it is so freaking fun it joining any dungeon or boss fight feels fun every single time that I have so far PS all the characters having their unique playstyle and most importantly their own unique ultiamte animations makes it so much better because in any other SAO game like the Last Recollection for example Eydis ultimate is garbage compared to what we had in the game she was in xD BUT NO HERE WE get even a Kirito outfit for a game that wasn't even westernized AT ALL I might jsut be setting my expectations high, but I have such high hopes for this game with the content we have so far that I hope that I don't get disappointed by them PS as you said this is an SAO's fan wet dream xD

Been loving SAOFD, and really enjoying the game. I watched the Globku review and couldn't agree with most of his points. Glad to see you're enjoying the game and wondering if you stream and play SAOFD with viewers?
