In my roof is an aerial the size of my roof
That’s a big aerial, sometimes you can over capitalise
I want to know the story about “ the truck on the nature stripe”?????
Charm ads a bit of charm
A plane spotters dream!
I love the fact they clearly went to the airport with a bit of chainlink fence and a small branch chopped off a tree and put them in front of a camera to get some establishing shots of the runway. The budget on this film was tiny... and yet it's still possibly the best Australian film ever made.
Even movies with huge budgets do things like that because you can't film at real locations for all kinds of reasons. The way the cinematography cuts to the lace, chimney and arial all build your trust that what you're seeing is really happening in the Kerrigan yard. Its brilliance
The actual set house was actually next to the airport on location. Real address is 3 Dagonet Street. The new place there looks nothing like the old one now after nearly 30 years
@@jackforde4883 Dagonet Street backs on to Essendon Airport or whatever the hell they call it now. No way that United B747 was at Essendon. Runway far too short.
🧚🏻♂️☯️💒🌏🦅🌌🙄😆✌️
It's all about the "charm"
What would that place be worth today
Whatever they say, tell 'em they're dreamin'
Timeless. Great movie. This was never for US audience though. Only we can relate to the humour
yeah I can get that
and us Kiwis too Chiselchest
@@rougebull77 Yeah it kinda reminds me of Peter Jackson's early films "im a Derek and Derek's don't run" (Bad Taste) could be a line straight from The Castle
Where is the aboriginal/indigenous way in this clip
Personal hey.ask? nothing in movie has to do about the plight of indigenous/aboriginal person's Nothing.hey.
they stick up for marbo in the court scene (even tho they are trying to relate to it - and fail miserably lol). and he sticks up for his Arab neighbour/stops him from getting evicted. he is undyingly loyal to his dodgy Italian Australian lawyer even though he is a crap lawyer. enough examples? I know some indigenous Aussies that love this film - its universally funny.
@@apparency ha ha - yeah - love that scene
"Nothing to serious in there" ... "what do you know about lead" 🤣
I only recently discovered USA, UK & Ireland still have many lead water pipes still in use from last century, and India allows lead to be used in paint.
back before my dad died i remeber watching this movie and we were both crying tears of laughter
Is that the runway there ? There ??, Yeah , beautiful machines sometimes you think they'll land right on top of you 😁, freaks the dogs out lol
Laurie Dobson was a fantastic man shame couldn't say that about the son we had fantastic times I still have his poem he wrote
Lol what a great Aussie film!
Straight factual no captual
"That's a huge aerial".
" was going to make it a granny flat ...... council said NO
Yeah, I think it was a quarter wave ground plane antenna for 27MHz
Charm...adds a bit of charm.
lol
I searched up this video today because I needed to hear this line. The conversation was about the "wood-panel print" on the vinyl of an above-ground swimming pool, and linking to ?t=53 was basically a winning move.
What did you edit?
hahah thanks bro this relaxed me before exam
"You little rippa! Thanks lads!" "Dad was stoked, but suitably restraint" Lol
