thank god I had Garchomp for the final boss. Dude was a beast and tanked everything. Dunno how I would've done it without them.

Here's the review. It's disorganized and stuff because I'm not good at this sort of thing. First of all, it's very good. The stuff that's good is the world, music, graphics, and content. The world is the single strongest thing in the game. There is a good sense of exploration and the areas all feel unique. The music is just about flawless. No problems here. The graphics are actually mixed. The good part of the graphics are the world graphics. They are very good. There is a lot of varied content to do in the game. You definitely won't feel like you're not getting your money's worth here, nor does it feel like while there is a ton of stuff to do, it's copypasted stuff. Now for the not so good stuff. There are two main issues. First is the polish. There are number of issues with the polish of the game. There isn't any one major problem but it's a bunch of little things that add up. Controller support isn't at the level it should be. Like, once you have enough techs, scrolling through the list with a controller far too slow. The inventory sorting doesn't make any sense. There are things in the game that are not explained properly enough. The Flat Worlds part is not very good gameplay wise which is fine because it's short enough, but I remember I died to the boss and when I came back the door appeared as if I beat it??? If I try to open up the menu and use an item on a Tama it only shows the first three so then I have to go back and switch to the other three. Numerous times I would leave the digital space fast travel area and when I tried to move I would enter back inside. Why did this happen? Because on controller the run button is the confirm button. So I would try to sprint but that would cause me to go back right inside. I think the bar that visually represents the Tama stats in the dex shouldn't be so long. Like, it reaches the end at 100% so as a result this makes in much harder to quickly compare Tama stats since the visual doesn't give the information in an easily digestible way. Second is the related to the presentation. While I like the environmental visuals, the rest of it can be mixed. The character portraits are all over the place. Some look good and some really don't. The Tama design doesn't grab me. It's kind of a big deal when you aren't all the interested in the creatures in a creature collection game. The special effects in combat are also quite mediocre. Even when you compare it to the first Pokemon game on Game Boy it falls short in battle effects. Part of the presentation is sound effects. The battle sound effects also fall short here. The attack effects are weak not just because of the visuals but also the unsatisfactory sound effects. However, the sound effect for super effective damage (Maybe also criticals too? Don't remember) and defeating an enemy is very nice so there is that. Like, the game has a bit of an issue with things not having the proper amount of flash to it. It's tough to explain exactly what I mean. But like, let's say you play a game with good combat. Like, take Streets of Rage 4. The game looks and sounds good. You go up to an enemy and press the attack button repeatedly. Each hit looks and sounds good. It's satisfying to do. But it's not just the visuals and sound it's also the hitstop that is a part of it. Like, you need the proper amount of delay to things. Say, in Pokemon you get into a trainer fight. The screen transitions to the battle, the trainers move in from the sides of the screen, etc. There is this visual flair to it. In Anode Heart it's like boom, you're in the battle. A lot of the stuff is like that. Stuff just doesn't have enough weight or feel as important as it should be because there isn't enough flair to it. That said, there is a huge upside. The advantage is that things move very fast. While the battles may not look or feel impressive, they are very quick. The lack of flash does make for a brisk pace. I'm certainly not asking for things to be brought to the speed of Pokemon. And I wasn't even playing on the fastest speed! Now for a few other things I don't feel all that strongly about. The story is fine I guess. Yeah. I don't think it's amazing but it's good enough for what it is. I am no expert but I enjoyed it well enough. The speed is a big part of it. Pretty random thing to bring up, but I think the reboot system doesn't quite make sense here. Like, in Digimon World, when you start out aren't there all these different branching paths and stuff? In Anode Heart it's more like Pokemon evolutions. So like, you get this new Tama and you reboot multiple times but it keeps evolving into the same thing over and over. I mean, especially when the Tama can't even evolve. Then it just feels like Rebooting is just delevelling repeatedly. Anyway, not a huge deal, just felt like mentioning that. Oh yeah I think five things to equip on a single Tama is too much I think. It wasn't long before I equipped random shit on a lot of my Tama because I couldn't be bothered. Monster Sanctuary has a similar problem where there is too much stuff to equip. You know the polish issue I mentioned? It's funny because I just started playing this new indie game and my god, playing that game makes Anode Heart feel like a first party AAA budget Nintendo game. Anyway, yeah. Very good game. I'll come back to it when the Mythicals update is out. I would probably get a physical copy of it on Switch if that were to happen.

I noticed in the last video you were struggling with the Fish in a Barrel mission, I have that and am struggling with it too right now. Did you just end up abandoning it? Or did you figure out how to get it to progress again?

Hmm actualy intrested, what are the diffrences between standered nova and this one? We had thought with white dwarf perhaps a babylon 5 cross over though we remember an attempted cross over on it for a TC in the past The amazon Tottal conversion for the orginal EV was something else btw. I think the reason for the game feeling so easy, like you mention in the video description, is that the mod was specifically catered towards tryhard speedrunners who want their enemies lined up to them in a silver platter. This is disappointing, when they said the mod had "improved AI" i thought they made enemies smarter, not dumber. I heard that supposedly one of the mod developers refused to play v7 and v8 and never moved on from v5 because they considered the changes made from v7 and onward to be "unacceptable", so if that's true then it's not surprising that the mod is apparently born of a "changes are bad" mentality.
