For all of you wondering where you'd get the TCP/IP control panel - it's part of Open Transport. You don't need to update your OS, you just need to grab Open Transport from e.g. the Macintosh Garden and install it.

Can one create an FTP server on a home PC and have it serve as a wireless file server for the Model 100?

Followed your steps except for a higher baud rate (38400) but all i get after hitting "open" is a "MacPPP: resource error" modal. Any idea as to why? Works fine with ZTerm though

Do you think it might be possible in the not so distant future for A.I to take care of the broken links? Meaning that as your code is taking care of finding links on the Archive, those it can't find will have an A.I system going through the internet looking for at least screenshot and webpages talking a out them (kinda like a patching stuff together, better than a blank screen)

Hello! My modem's playing up, and I was wondering whether you might have any pointers. I have a V3 that displays in terminal as if it's set to the wrong baud rate after flashing and only displays correctly after re-flashing the firmware, and then the only response it gives to commands is 'ERROR', and becomes mangled again after holding FLASH for five seconds. While I would put this down to updating the firmware, it was working perfectly, and in fact better than it was previously. Then it died out of nowhere nearly ten minutes later. SIT-REP: it started working. 😂

@theoldnet: Did you use the STA or AP Mode? When STA Mode is the Peer-Adress ignored? Could yoeu please post the output of your show-comannd from inside the telnet-session of the esp-slip-router? Thanks in advance :)

My TheOldNet shows a date in 2020 when it first boots up. How do I acquire and install new firmware? Can I do this on my modern Mac? Do I need a USB to DB-9 cable to be able to do this?

Let's say I have one of these ESP8266-based WiFi modems (not yours but similar) and I mainly use it with ProComm for BBSing but I'd like to ALSO create a setup where I can tell my Win98SE PC to "dial" into a fake Internet provider and get web browsing in Windows 98 - and I want to do this WITHOUT flashing the firmware away from the Hayes-compatible modem firmware. I also want to be able to disconnect from my fake dial-up service and go right back to BBSing with ProComm. I've been told this is possible, using a Pi running a SLIP server, but I've never been able to find a tutorial for setting this up with one of these WiFi modems. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for the video, and I recently received my wifi modem. It works great on my model 100 at 300 baud. Have you been able to figure out how to get higher speeds? If I try 2400 or 9600 it seems to partially work but gets some garbage. I can not get 19200 to work at all. Great little product. Make putting files on the model t so much easier.
