Bulk Flow Analyst™ Flow Pattern Analysis (Part 2)
Designing and analyzing feeders, hoppers, and silos can be challenging because there are so many goals that have to be satisfied for successful operation. In this, the second in a series of videos on feeder, hopper, and silo analysis, we will use Bulk Flow Analyst™ to examine the flow patterns within a silo. We'll compare flow patterns for funnel-flow and mass-flow silos. We'll also see how changes in material properties and obstructions might affect the flow.

Bulk Flow Analyst™ Belt Feeder Force Analysis (Part 1)
มุมมอง 4.1K9 ปีที่แล้ว
Designing and analyzing feeders, hoppers, and silos can be challenging because there are so many goals that have to be satisfied for successful operation. Analytical solutions exist but the results vary widely for a given design so which one do you pick? Analytical approaches are also typically based on simple hopper shapes and configurations. This video is the first in a series on feeder, hopp...
Bulk Flow Analyst™ Material Characterization Simulations
มุมมอง 1.7K9 ปีที่แล้ว
The single biggest challenge to using the Discrete Element Method is having confidence in your material properties. Measurements of physical samples doesn't deliver the properties needed for DEM. Applied DEM now provides a tool that will let users enter physical measurements and that will deliver material properties appropriate for use with Bulk Flow Analyst™. To learn more, visit www.appliedde...
Bulk Flow Analyst™ Analysis of Flow Pattern in a Silo, Bin, or Hopper #2
มุมมอง 2.6K9 ปีที่แล้ว
Bulk Flow Analyst™ by Applied DEM was used to simulate material flow through a silo. Bulk Flow Analyst's post processing tools offer a variety of options for displaying particle and surface data, including particle velocity, particle stress, age of particles, and more. In this example, the location of the particles at a specific time during the analysis was used to "group" the particles. Each g...
Bulk Flow Analyst™ Analysis of Screw Conveyor
มุมมอง 1.1K9 ปีที่แล้ว
Bulk Flow Analyst™ by Applied DEM was used to simulate a screw conveyor. Bulk Flow Analyst's post processing tools offer a variety of options for displaying particle and surface data, including particle velocity, particle stress, age of particles, and more. Users can measure the flow rate, average speed of particles in specific zones, and measure the impact and friction forces upon the screw an...

Bulk Flow Analyst™ DEM Simulation of Bucket Elevator
มุมมอง 1.9K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Bulk Flow Analyst™ by Applied DEM was used to simulate a bucket elevator. Bulk Flow Analyst offers a tool called a component pattern, which allows user a vast amount of control over the number and spacing of buckets without the need of a fully-defined CAD model. The CAD model for this simulation had only 2 buckets defined. If you have questions about how Bulk Flow Analyst can help you with your...
Bulk Flow Analyst™ DEM Analysis of Oscillating Chute
มุมมอง 1.3K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Bulk Flow Analyst™ by Applied DEM was used to simulate an oscillating chute. Users have full control over the frequency and the angle of travel. This example will help the user determine how much the stockpile volume can be increased. For more information, contact info@applieddem.com or visit www.applieddem.com.
Bulk Flow Analyst™ DEM Analysis of Horizontal Motion Conveyor
มุมมอง 1.8K13 ปีที่แล้ว
Bulk Flow Analyst™ by Applied DEM was used to simulate a reciprocating horizontal conveyor with an oscillating catch basin. Bulk Flow Analyst™ has the ability to simulate systems with complex motion including harmonic (sinusoidal) motion. If you would like more information on how Bulk Flow Analyst™ can be used to help answer questions or solve your bulk material handling challenges, contact us ...
Bulk Flow Analyst™ Simulation of Paddle Mixer
มุมมอง 7K14 ปีที่แล้ว
Bulk Flow Analyst™ by Overland Conveyor Company was used to perform this simulation. Mixing and blending efficiency is difficult to predict. Undermixing means an inconsistent product, while overmixing means a waste of energy and potentially more damaged product. With Bulk Flow Analyst™ mixing efficiency can be evaluated without a physical prototype, removing much of the expense, lead time, and ...
Introduction to Discrete Element Method, Applied DEM
มุมมอง 20K15 ปีที่แล้ว
This is an introduction to the Discrete Element Method, or DEM. In this short video, viewers will learn what DEM is, how it can be used in industry, and the types of problems that can be identified using the technology. For more information on how the Discrete Element Method can be used to solve problems in your process or machine, please email info@applieddem.com.
Bulk Flow Analyst™ DEM Analysis of Slush Molding Process
มุมมอง 2.1K15 ปีที่แล้ว
The analysis was performed using Bulk Flow Analyst™ from Overland Conveyor Company. In the slush molding process, plastic resin is rolled about inside a volume consisting of a powder box and a tool. The tool is heated, so as the particles come into contact with it, they melt and become stuck to the tool. Using this process, users can find out what rocking and rolling sequence gives adequate cov...
Bulk Flow Analyst™ DEM analysis of screw conveyor
มุมมอง 10K15 ปีที่แล้ว
The analysis was performed using Bulk Flow Analyst™ from Overland Conveyor Company. Screw conveyors typically operate within a sleeve that makes viewing particle behavior nearly impossible. With Bulk Flow Analyst™ we can view the particles, their pressures, and velocities as shown here. www.applieddem.com www.overlandconveyor.com
Bulk Flow Analyst™ DEM analysis of vibrating screen
มุมมอง 10K15 ปีที่แล้ว
The analysis was performed on Bulk Flow Analyst™, from Overland Conveyor Company. The stacked vibrating screen was designed to separate undersized particles from the raw material. It's very easy to see that many of the smaller particles made their way to the end of the top screen, demonstrating the inefficiency of this design. www.applieddem.com www.overlandconveyor.com
Bulk Flow Analyst™ DEM Analysis of Sticky Particles
มุมมอง 10K15 ปีที่แล้ว
This analysis was performed using Bulk Flow Analyst™ from Overland Conveyor Company. Particles that are covered with (but not submerged within) a fluid form a bond the strength of which is dependent upon the surface tension of the fluid. Additionally, if smaller grains exist among the larger particles, the smaller particles and the fluid may form something like a paste, increasing the strength ...
