White Crater, locally known as *Kawah Putih*, is a stunning volcanic crater lake located in Ciwidey, about 50 kilometers south of Bandung, Indonesia. It is situated at an altitude of around 2,430 meters above sea level, making it a cool and refreshing destination.
The lake’s striking turquoise-white color comes from its sulfur content, which also creates a distinctive, surreal ambiance. The color of the water can change from bluish to whitish-green depending on the sulfur concentration, temperature, and weather. Surrounding the lake is a stark, white, and dramatic volcanic landscape that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding lush forests.
