4 & 1/2 Classic Fords... What was I THINKING??? | Status of the IT GARAGE FLEET
Hey!
In this Video we just go over the current status of the Fleet/collection/hoard we have over here.
We start with the 92 Lincoln towncar. (the .5 of a classic) its the daily, its pretty good and has treated me very well over the last two years of ownership.
Next is the 63 Mercury Meteor. This car was pretty rough when purchased due to time sitting and lack of floors. We have fixed the floors and the fuel, ignition and braking systems. However, it needs a transmission.
The 62 comet is Janettes car! Shes SO EXCITED to get behind the wheel of this one! It is Currently at a shop getitng fixed so we can actually get some seat time in it!
You know the 59 Edsel Corsair. Its a cool little ride we have here. Still has a big Block FE in it, although the not numbers matching one. We've been putting some miles on this thing!
The 58 Edsel Pacer is what I think of when I think "Edsel". 2 foor hardtop, push button Teletouch, its THE car. It obviously needs everything, except an Interior! There will be more content on this soon!
Past cars.
The 74 Ford Courier. That truck was TOO COOL. If I had unlimited space, itd still be around. It was so good for what it was. Definitely miss that one.
The 63 Buick Special. That thing was super cool too! Had an aluminum v8! And a small 215 at that! It needed some work getting it back on the road, but was essentially turn key by our standards!

I was going to use this on a Tri-Amp system, so I need the trigger power wire, when the deck turns on it powers the out 12VDC wire for the amps to come on, does this have that? I have been trying to search for a manual for this.

coldwarmotors rebuilt the 58 Edsel pushbutton selector...its pretty complicated compared to the Mopar version

Look at Cold War Motors videos on here,there are some segments on fixing a '58 Edsel and if I remember correctly there's one on the Teletouch push botton shifter and there are some other channels on here related to them also,'58 is my favorite style of the Edsel too

Wish i had even one old car.... divorce cost me everything.... i see these guys with multiple cars and just get angry... I didnt give my stuff away, a judge ordered it, even though our kid is 26 and in the military.... ive got about 20 years left, and have nothing. Nice.

Love the 62 Comet. I’ve got a 61 (lots of videos of it on my channel). Best fix for that broken front suspension, convert it to a Mustang II front end. Did that on mine.
@@1ManWrenching I’d love to have a 60 or 61 comet! Mustang II would be quite the upgrade. It’s currently at a shop right now getting squared up though. Just want a driver, nothing crazy over here. But you never know what could happen in the future!

In 1980 to 1990 I owned a 1975 Ford Courier and I LOVED IT!!!! I put that little truck threw hell and it kept on running. It was a tough truck. It was hard to dent. If I sneeze next to my newer 2010 Ford Ranger it dents....Total Garbage!!!!

Love it! My dad had a 74 Courier that he drove every day… I still remember the sound of the tailgate chains slapping the inside of the tailgate every night when he pulled in the driveway. Later when I was about 21 I got the truck, put a new motor in it and drove it for work.. until I had a drunk driver turn left into me head on, I clipped his bumper and rolled into a 7-11 parking lot. Ended up upside down hanging by shoulder belts that I had added. I loved that truck.Good times

She wants a dog/baby stroller, but I need to preserve his and my own man card when trolling the hood for shih-tzu ladies. Picked up my wagon today for $20, going to patina it and do a half/curved stake side with pallets. Your video and approach is spot on for me. I think I will be all in $30 when I'm done. Hey Ben and Janette!What a great junkyard.I had a snake by my back door the other day and had one get in the kitchen last year.No idea how it got into the kitchen.
If you ever go back there, IT, if there's any '57 Mercurys or '59 Ford Fairlanes, can you let me know? I'm trying to do some period style customisation on my Edsel and I'm planning ahead to see what might fit for what I need. Also glad Janette had fun, looks like she did at least!
She’s ready to go find another classic junkyard! Yeah! There’s the white 59 we looked at for a few seconds. It’s right next to the black 58 ranger we looked at. I’m not sure of any 57 mercs… I’ll keep my eye out!
@@itgarageben Bit of an odd question, but the height of a '59 Fords front bumper, is it the same height as a '58 Edsels? Reason I ask, I'm thinking of modifying my '58 Edsel's front bumper setup. Cut them in two, keep the centre pieces so it doesnt spoil the horsecollar grill center, but add the 'tornedo turnsignals' from the '59 Ford to give it a bit more of a custom style. And being in the UK, well, our junkyards arent quite as pleasent as yours are stateside! Oh boy, Janette's got 'The Bug' now, family outings are going to be fun fun fun in the future! If you guys find an old hearse or ambulance, I wouldnt be surprised if that becomes the family cruiser. All the very best to you and yours!
A hearse sure would be fun! I know where a junkyard WAS that had over 60 hearses on the property! I’m not sure on the difference in bumpers I have a pair of 58 and 59 Edsel bumpers at the house. But I don’t have access to a 59 ford to measure.
@@itgarageben Oh no, 'was', I hate the word 'was', is it gone? If you ever go up that way again, think maybe you could check? Big ask I know but it means another justified trip to the junkyard.....? ;)
Last I knew (mid 2021) the family who owned the yard wanted to sell the land to developers. The man who ran it, (and owned the hearses on it) was moving “good ones” and crushing a ton of cars. Maybe I should give him a call. See if he’ll let me show them. I’ll keep my eye open for 59 fords!
