Cruiser fire in Antibes Marina May 2012
I happened to be travelling to Cannes when I saw the plume of smoke from the marina. The images tell the rest of the story. 40 service vehicles attended this fire.

This a unique clip of the B52 flying over the Vulcan shortly before the XH558 took to the air in July 2009.

Taken on a Canon Powershot G10 compact camera so please excuse the slightly shakey image on a cold wet day although we did get a break in the weather for this glorious icon. Also the wind is a little intrusive but I think worth posting though. Enjoy.

Graeme Wight's project to build a record-beating hill climb car using today's F1 V10 technology. One of the best sounds to be heard at Shelsley Walsh. Watch for the black lines as Graeme opens the throttle for the Finish Line straight.

This wonderful car is seen here at Shelsley Walsh in August 2003. It was built specifically to challenge the Euopean Hill Climb championship in the late sixties. Just listen to that fantastic 2 litre unsilenced flat 12. Full credit to David Franklin who never held back during his ascents.
Totally awesome!
The sight of glorious English countryside with the sound of a glorious Italian V12. Perfect.
I'll never grow tired of that sound.
Esses motores boxer das Ferrari, 212, 312, tem o som mais bonito e harmônico desde os anos 60. Ninguém fará algo mais belo.
Takes off like a Fighter on afterburner . Also has a thrust to weight of 0.31 . If only we had an up to date stealth version now !
Yes I was there. An awesome car and driver combination. The noise was also awesome. I must now search TH-cam for Graeme Wight Jnr's Predator to compare the noise. Don't you just love Shelsley?
I was there...stood right behind it on the line...nearly deafened everyone! 125 mph through the speed trap IIRC - that and the mclaren M12GT were the standouts of a great lineup - one of the highlights of my life.
I was stood right behind it as it left the start line - it was unforgettable...and it managed 125mph through the trap if i remember rightly. I think there was also a mclaren m6gt there that day....total car porn!
You're correct about the McLaren, I remember seeing it close up in the paddock. Absolutely stunning car. I'll never forget it had a rose jointed bonnet stay. Talk about over engineered.
Super Sound. Ferrari 12 cylinder 2.000 cc !!!
Almost as nice as a 917...... :-P
The Best sounding car of all time ! Incredible !
those pistons have to be absolutely tiny!! 2.0L V12
+chris herbert 166cc per cylinder. We're talking about motorcycle rods and pistons here.
Man that's how cars should! Rock Hard!
Isn't 0:32 where Hammond dumped it?
+Zachary Lambert Yes xD
Oh, good, I'm not the only guy who noticed that. RIP Top Gear!
That was straight up ear porn... I loved it.
Very rare to see this car in action. Thanks!
Wow, what a sound!!! :-O
I was there....11 years ago now OMG. The sound of that car reminds me why I call myself a petrolhead. And Mr Franklin drove this priceless vintage antique as it should have been - hard and fast.
Ahh, music to a petrol heads ears...
If I still lived nearby, I'd go to every meeting and quite happily pay to get. No other motor sport venue in world will ever have the historical importance OR support in the future that Shelsley Walsh has or will have. So fleamus, GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU MORONIC BRAINLESS CRETIN!!!!
PAY THE FUCKIN' TICKET YOU MORON.
@Iamwolf134 yes but my response was funny and wort the risk!!
@m4dmike he's just a troll. xd
I was there ! We had bacon sandwiches.
Such a plane !!!
Almost another Barrel Roll!
and those 'desirables' being...purely on the noise factor... The Felday Daimler, Spider II or I, The 'Russ Ward' rover Chevron, Keith Harris's Chevron (unsilenced!), The Morgan v8, Tony Hunts 'ripping' Force, ERA R4D, The Napier Bentley and there was another amazing sounding one, bright shiny silver it was, either the Becke powerplus or the lightweight special i think.
awesome sound..keep coming back to it along with GWJ's clips to recreate that sweet music..looking forward to Shelsley this coming weekend for the biggy, i always stand between crossing and the bottom 's' now, so close to it and the speed is phenomenal, and scary at the same time! I'm the mad one who comes on his bike so you cant miss me haha! Can you put up some more stuff if you've got it please? I have a list of 'desirables'....
Interesting, some of us make the effort to put the clips on YT instead of just talking about it?
fleamus, And it's people like you that caused all the race tracks here in North America to fold up. No respect for a person's passion and hobby.
You must have more money than sense. Why don't you support the oldest continuous motor sport venue in the world? We're locals too, and could get in free, but we always pay up to help keep it going. If everybody was like you there wouldn't be a hill climb there any more, you smug git
that wasnt you
Your point is?......
Was at Shelsley for this, and it is the best sounding car of all time!
Excellent car driven by someone who is on top of the car. Hope he returns to Shelsley this year!
Shelsley Walsh rocks, and that car he has built is awe-inspiring
Excellent car and an incredible noise! Well driven by Franklin.
