The surveying lab and AutoCAD lab provide students the necessary background to select and develop sites for civil engineering structures. Proper site selection and engineering have a significant impact on the economics of a project and long-term utility and sustainability of the constructed facility. These labs will prepare students to:
* Select and develop sites for a variety of civil engineering projects
* Determine site layout and access
* Establish site contour and drainage
* Installation of utilities
* Perform elementary surveying
* Create drawings using a computer-aided drafting package
