Honestly guys I'm just posting whatever makes me happy. Definitely in the "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" phase. We are purely chasing dopamine here. If that sounds like a good time to you come along for the ride. Let's see where it takes us.
Full Story of a Sculpture (Shorts Movie)
Well it took me two months but it's finally done. I'm really happy with how it came out and wanted to put everything into one concise place. It was a lot of work and I'm really proud of the sculpture and the videos. I know my quality could be better but it's really cool to the whole thing come together. It was a lot of work filming this process but I'm so happy that I did. If you can get through watching a vertical video in a horizontal format thanks. I hope you enjoy.

I really like this trend. Decided to do it with my art projects this semester. ❤
Oh the algorithm.
Don't know if this works on bone dry clay but it definitely works on leather hard.
Good to know
Lol
Fun fact... I filmed this... And then didn't actually clean. 😂
Lololol
I often hear nihilism as a description put on others and less a belief system people claim themselves, so it's interesting to hear you self describe as a nihilist. I understand what it means to be atheist- but what does it mean to you to hold a nihilist set of beliefs for you?
That's a good point. I don't think nihilism really counts as a set of beliefs, honestly neither does atheism. it's more of a lack of belief. What I mean when I say I'm a nihilist I tend to agree with the idea that the universe itself doesn't have like a purpose. And that's really scary to a lot of people. But there's a whole school of belief that it's a very freeing thought. Basically you can make whatever purpose you want out of the world and out of your life. You have free will and it's your choices that really matter.
Reminds me of existentialism/absurdism way of looking at things.@@AshleeKnowsNot
May God bless you 😊❤
❤️❤️❤️
Lmao she don’t believe in God, how can she be blessed by someone she don’t believe in. The hearting of the comment by the creator of the video makes it even more ironic
Contemplate the fact that you don’t believe in God yet you’re making art. 😂 baby girl you are God 🫶 it’s okay to have your own idea of what that means to you.
What do I mean by that? Just curious
❤️ I can appreciate that perspective! Hope you have a great day! ❤️
Eternally grateful for people like you! Hope the algorithm boost your reach!
Thanks that means a lot ❤️
I’m glad you shared this! Honestly being more real about who you are will probably draw your audience in, and bring the right kind of people too.
Ty! Did you recommend that I name it contemplation? Because if so it really grew on me.
@ yeah, I’m glad u liked it!
Cool art but I do have to say morality is not subjective because if it was there would be no right or wrong. Someone could r*pe people or maybe be involved in inc*st and could say it feels right to them. If morals are subjective then if enough people say it then would that make it morally right to commit those acts? You couldn’t say it is not moral because at that point it’s your opinions theirs.
Sounds fine to me. Believe what you want. However I do specifically want to say I like the world turtle part of the piece most
Thank you! I was really trying to evoke like religious symbolism. That's why the figure is gold (that's a pretty common early Christian thing). And I've always loved the imagery behind the world turtle. And it's fascinating how many cultures have something similar.
@AshleeKnowsNot I'm not very religious but I know about random things like that. Just thought it was cool. Have a great day darlin
Don't feel bad for holding on to reality.
Lol. Hard to do sometimes.
Sounds like you're sane to me.
Lol. I hope so 😂
I'm not going to lie I'm really nervous to share this. It feels important.... like I should say what the meaning behind this sculpture is but also I'm worried people will take it the wrong way. If anyone has any thoughts I would love to hear them. ❤ And I just want to make it very clear I think being a good person is really important. And specifically that religion can really skew our perspective of what it means to be moral. I think this is most obvious when it comes to like queer communities and how they're affected by religious doctrine.
Lester... 😂
How do you loose parts of a Sculpture 😂
Lol 😂
That is a great question 😂
Cool!!
Finally giving an update on something else 😂
I love contemplation. IMO it invites the viewer to imagine themselves as the contemplator.
That's a really good point!
I'm really happy with how it finally turned out!
I hope you guys like this video. Im actually really proud of it. I know there are alot of things I could have done differently but over all I'm really happy with how it turned out. (I even got copyright free music which made me feel like a real TH-camr. 😂)
You should do another questions and answer video on this project and anything else people want to ask you? Just a thought
I'll think about it! I just did a longer video of this whole project. It's got some extra content and stuff. So if you have any questions I might answer them there!
Such a wonderful and beautiful piece ot art you have made. To see the final piece with all the little parts together, you finally see it in all it glory. Wonderful job and a great work on your videos of the different stages and setbacks of your journey through your ceramics. Great job, and love this piece!
Thank you!! Im pretty happy with how it all eventually came together.
Cool.
Cooooleeooo
It's finalllllyy done! Took over a month to make but I'm honestly super happy with it. ❤ If you have any final name suggestions I'd love to hear them! I'm still not sure what to call this one. 😂

Congrats!! Looks v cool, some close up shots on the turtle would be rad i feel like there's a lot of good details to look at
Thanks! And I actually should have something soon with some more close up shots. I've actually been prefilming a lot of this so I can take a couple weeks off before Christmas. 😂
I was thinking? What if you use fishing line so the mounting points don't have as much material to hold up? Just a suggestion. I dont know using the wire is part of the finished project.
It was more of just a practical choice. I already had the wire. Honestly there's a good chance I'm probably going to revisit this project next semester. I might actually collaborate with the engineering department. I want to have like an automatically rotating turntable and some other things. So I might end up changing a few things.
I can't believe it just broke on camera like that. 😂
That was crazy it broke off like that. And on camera as you filming it. Glad it didn't crack. It would have been a major bummer.
Yeah it was so weird! At least it's pretty easily fixable.
The piece is soo beautiful!!!! I bet your first looked at at finished piece you had the biggest smile!!! Great job n a magnificent piece of Art!!!!!
Oh my. 😮 Let the next one be the charm then!❤
Thank you!!!
Ohhh noooo 😮
Ikr? 🥹
Nooooo sucks when things break esp ceramics things but it's just the epoxy hook and not the bowl that broke, right?
Oh yah it was just the epoxy! I probably just didn't use enough. 😅
Just one more bump in the road right? 😂
It worked!! Congratulations!!! And really lovely, I also love all the runny glazes effects ❤❤❤ yey!🎉
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Tyats cool, seem many handmade pots at goodwill with iridescent glazing on some parts omly. Wondered how they did it
Adding gold does in fact fix everything. 😂
I like ur hair<33
The gold is sooo pretty ❤
Ty!!!
Ohhh that's cool!!!
Ty!!!
Oooooo cool.
Ty!!!
So pretty 😍
Thank you!! 😊
Congrats! The luster elevated it so much, looks very dreamy
Ty! Completely agree.
I can't wait to see it all put together 😊
Looks like a " MILLION DOLLARS "!!! This piece is very beautiful. Congratulations on a wonderful, well-done piece. You have a great talent for Ceramics. If you ever want to sell it, please let me know? I was going to tell you there's a book called " The Ceramic Spectrum " it's a wonderful book to read on ceramic glazing. Read it if you can possibly give you new ideas and thoughts. Just wanted to throw it out there.
Thank you! I'm not sure if I want to sell it. At least not right now. But I'll have to look into that book! I definitely feel like I could use some help in the glazing department. 😂
That's wild
Good luck 😂
😮
The turtle looks great! The glaze runs and drips gives the bowl another dimension to it a little touching up and blending here and there and it will be alright. I have faith in your expertise that you'll blend it in, the turtle shell looks great
Thanks man! It's definitely been a ride making this one. The gold absolutely saved it though. In the end the glaze running made it so much better.
The more you look, the clumping on the bowl is looking more like a hidden globe. Glazing is an art in itself and will come with time, practice, and patience.
