My Grand Daddy had 4 or 5 Tandem K Model IH Dumps back in the 50's... A whole Fleet of them daggone Trucks... They made him Money when there wasn't any to be made... Then in about 1960 or 1961 he started buying Mack Tractors and Fruehauf Trailers to Haul Steel and Freight... The first Mack was a Brand Spankin' New B-61... It was Red with the Chrome Shell on The Nose... He had that, 3 or 4 H Models, An F Model that was Brand New, a little old E Model Gas Job, and a few others... The last Truck he bought was a Brand New R-686 Mack with a Maxidyne Engine and a Duplex... It was a Tandem Tractor but the Rear Axle was a Dummy Axle that you could lift up when ya didn't need it... All those trucks were sold at Auction a while after The Teamsters Struck in the 1980's.... I wish I still had one of his Trucks... He kept them in Immaculate, Parade Like Condition....
Poor commie can barely afford the shoes they will have to wear to travel everywhere they do because that is how they will be doing it… Maybe some public transportation mixed in.
I would have loved to have seen what the sleeper looks like inside since it is one of the first sleeper trucks. Im sure it is probably just a piece of plywood, but it would be cool to have seen it!!! Thanks for the video! It is a beautiful old truck just waiting to be restored!!!
I like 74' GTO's, especially the shaker hood. You have to wonder how much bondo is actually holding this thing together. That cracked rear wheel well is a little worrisome and hopefully the rest of the body is only surface rust. Cool project though.
In 73 the GTO was based off the full size Lemans and it was a bomb. 74&75 (technically 74 1/2) the GTO was based off the Ventura, my dad's cousin had 74, hers was white with a red painted roof and interior with white Rally wheels. She ended up giving it to her nephew on her husband side of the family to take to college in the late 80's and it was stolen out of his dorm parking lot and the police found it 6 days later in a ditch basically burned to the ground.
We had a 1974 Ventura as a family car when I was kid (maroon). The next door neighbor had a 1974 GTO. The other neighbor had a pair of Grand Prix, '75 and '77.
Well worth saving, probably could use Nova body parts as I think they are exactly the same. At least the Pontiac specific parts are there. These came only with Pontiac 350 power but that can be remedied with a 400 swap, they are the same externally.
Looked like a gold Buick Apollo we sold at the used lot three times over(trade in,repo).Cool shaker hood.Should have opened the door so we could see the inside. Not through the filthy window.Looks like it's lived in the rust belt.
The Pontiac motor differs from the Chevy with the Pontiac having a bridge style intake manifold (you can put your hand underneath the manifold) the engine were larger in size and weight
I actually have a Hop up original 350 cubic inch 74 GTO Pontiac Engine 🙂. It actually has a rare set of Pontiac 428 cubic inch High Performance Heads on it. Not for Sale Though 🙂.
Gorgeous property and view! I saw your post on the Autocar sleeper. Is the Autocar for sale? My Dad had a 1953 DC-75 with integral factory sleeper. I used to ride with him back in the 60s. I loved that truck! I'm looking for one to completely restore and this looks like it would be a great candidate. If you know who owns it and if they would sell it please let me know. I'm assuming you saw it out west somewhere? Thanks. Cyrus

It's a 74, some had 350 cu. In. Pontiac Motors. Some had Chevy Motors. Shaker Scoop Is Factory.

1974 the GTO was a ventura with shaker hood the other guy's right its 1974 model GTO.
A friend had one just like that in high school. Yeah, I'm that old. I think I saw where the hatch backs are pretty rare, not sure.
